Chapter 30: Bloody Contract

“I want to settle things with you, once and for all.” Larson stared the beast straight in the eye.

The winged creature stomped his front paw, shaking the ground. “Do you have what it takes to bring me down?”

“I can try.” The boy maintained his footing on the dark plane.

“I admire your confidence.” The dragon grabbed a crimson sword from underneath his belly and threw it at him. “Show me what you got!”

Larson grabbed the blood red sword from the floor without a second thought and rushed at the beast.

“I, Chrimea—The Sacred God of Fire, shall obliterate you!”

The beast swung its tail at the amber-haired boy, but he jumped in time. Another swing aimed for his head. Larson slid under it and reached its crimson leg as thick as a sequoia tree. It trampled the boy. A second later, he pushed all the strength he got, lifting the front paw enough for him to escape.

“Not bad for a puny human.” The winged beast commended him.
