They arrive at the small club, and a line is wrapped around the building.
Leila’s eye twitches in annoyance and she asks as Hayley drags her to the line, “Why is it so busy on a Monday?”
“Because we love to party!”
Leila shrugs, retorting, “You mean you like to party.”
Hayley grins widely, and they soon come up to the entrance of Capone’s. The bouncer scans the two girls and questions, “Driver’s licenses ladies.”
They both hand them over to the tall man, and he holds out a stamp for them. Leila holds her hand out along with Hayley, and the image of the number twenty-one with a slash through it appears on top of their hands.
Hayley scowls at the mark, but Leila smiles as the bouncer lets them through. People are dancing to loud hip hop and R&B music, and Leila immediately makes her way to the bar and finds a seat. Hayley follows her and asks, “You’re not gonna sit here all night, are you?”
She admits calmly, “I’m not a dancer. You have fun. I’ll people watch.”
