Chapter 17 - First day of the festival

It was the busiest day in the city of Tipotha. It was their tradition. It was their way. The city had just a main entrance which was the gate and it was guarded by a garrison of soldiers with outposts containing soldiers who are enough to defend some provinces. At sunrise, the gate was opened and the check began. The soldiers checked everyone, men, women, and children while lords from Tipothas provinces were subjected to little checks, and lord of neighboring cities who had come to represent their people and their king were subjected to the least check; a check done with respect.

The street that emanated from the gate led to the market and two hundred metres away from the gates were slaves listed for sale. Some of the wealthy men in Tipotha had purchased slaves and were listing them for sale and profit. There were steels, iron, woven materials, pets, and other items that may look fanciable to visitors as well, all listed for sale.
