Mia threw her hair up into a bun, with a tiny scrunchy, grabbed her coat and ran downstairs as quickly as she could.

"Top of the morning to you sweethearts, I made breakfast." My mum said in her usual casual voice.

"Don't worry, I packed them already. You can eat it in the car."

"Thank you aunty Leila." Mia said over her shoulders, as she pushed through the front door, taking two porch steps down at a time.

"Mum, I might be having some of my friends over today." I said, hurrying outside before she could reply.

I just didn't  want to give her a chance to complain.

Uncle Macho was in the car waiting for us already.

"You are bringing your friends over to the house?" Mia asked in shock.

"Yes," I replied boredly.

She turned around and hurried to the car.

"Uncle Macho, can I come over to help out at the restaurant today?" Mia asked, as she climbed into the car.
