"Kazu! please hang in there!" Fyo yells as she desperately tries to stem the flow of blood coming out from Kazu's abdomen with her hands.

"Fanny give me a piece of cloth, just anything quick!"

Fanny, in a shambled state quickly pulls out his handkerchief impulsively and hands it over to Fyo.

"Oh god you moron, this is not enough!"

In desperation, she removes her vest and quickly wraps it around Kazu's abdomen region. leaving Fyo in her tight top.

"Fyo wha-what are you doi-"

"What are you staring at? grab Kazu and run away from here."

"What the heck are you talking about? I am not leaving you behind!"

"Then, what options do we have? What can you do to change this situation! All you do every time is mess up!". Out of hopelessness and frustration Fyo lashes out all her emotion towards Fanny. "It's all your damn fault we ended up like this!"

Hearing that, Fanny stands still dumbfounded and guilty. He clearly knows if either Fyo or Kazu took charge at beginning, they would've avoided this situation.

But out from the excitement of showing his new spell, they end up chasing the goblins into the "No pass zone" and eventually ended up like this.

"I... I just want to be useful. I know I'm a big idiot and mess up most of the time. But I refuse to leave any of you guys behind. You both are equally as precious to me!"

Fyo sighs.

While she remains fixated on Fanny, the orc lord appears behind Fyo with his giant sword raises high in the air.

"Fyo watch out!"

Acknowledging the alarm, she quickly turns back and raises both of her hand and conjures up an enchantment; "Art of enchantment: Air shield". The huge sword then clashes against the magic shield made up of compressed air.

The orc lord pulls up his sword and slashes repeatedly against Fyo with impeding brutal strikes.

"Fanny, just go!" Fyo yells as she struggles to keep up her enchantment.

"Just don't worry about me, I'll get out of this situation."

Then to Fanny's surprise, Fyo lets out a grin.

"Also, who do you think you're talking to Fanny? I'm not some ordinary woman that relies on idiots."

But that didn't ease Fanny's mind. "No... I will fight."

"Give me just 5 seconds. I'll blast this guy away with that spell."

Fanny then quickly starts working on his hand weaving to activate an invocation spell.

"Okay hurry up then! I can't hold on for much longer!" Fyo yells as she proceeds to righten her shield from the series of brutal strikes executed by the orc lord.

The monster who had been lurking in the shadow sees this opportunity, and claps his hands, releasing another invisible wave that interfered with all traces of magic.

As soon as the wave reached them, Fyo's magic barrier quickly diminishes. Seeing the huge sword miss her face by half a hair's width, Fyo's life starts flashing in front of her eyes.

she watches silently, accepting her fate that she is going to die.

From the sky, a guy in a red hoodie drops down below out of nowhere. Before reaching the ground, he spins his body and lands a powerful blow with his heel, smashing the orc lord against the ground.

Fyo coughs from the smoke and slowly opens her eyes to see a tall guy with a familiar red hoodie on top of the orc lord.

"Isn't that? After being certain of who that person is, Fyo calls out "Senpai!"

With a smile the anonymous guy walks slowly towards Fyo and Fanny.

In his hand, a sword starts to materialize in a flash of golden color. Fyo and Fanny watch in awe at what the guy is planning to do to them.

After getting close to them, the guy in the red hoodie throws his sword on the ground.

"Axoz activate, Ward of Mending…" he mutters.

Suddenly Fyo and Fanny find themselves inside a golden barrier, they notice their wounds are slowly starting to heal, even those of Kazu too.

Seeing their leader down, the goblins enter a frenzy, they pick up their swords, and charge towards Fyo and others.

"Stay inside there, I will clean this up in 5 minutes."

"Zyun-senpai! wait hold on-" Fyo shouts as she tries to warn him about the strange phenomenon interfering with their magic.

But it was too late, Zyun had already changes his direction and ran toward the horde of goblins galloping towards him.

"Why are all men like this?" Fyo asks in exasperation.

Wielding swords and maces in their grips, the goblin group attack Zyun with a combined murderous scream.

Zyun charges right at their frontrunner, and before the goblin could even do anything, Zyun send him flying towards a tree with his fist, then, using his strong leg he knocks down the nearest calf-size goblin to the ground.

But with their large numbers, the goblins quickly surround him and attack Zyun from all sides. Nonetheless, Zyun dodges and parries the incoming attacks from them easily without any weapons.

One of the goblins attempts to assault Zyun from behind, but sensing it, he quickly presses his hands against the ground and swings his legs high up in the air, knocking out the goblin in the process.

Zyun quickly composes himself and then intercepts the attack from the front. He stops the sword coming towards his face by clapping the blade between his hands.

Seeing him in a vulnerable state, the goblin nearest to him quickly swings its weapon right at Zyun.

In that moment, Zyun's hands soon starts to glow golden yellow and then obliterates the sword in his palms.

Before the goblins could reach him, he unleashes punch after punch, destroying the goblins.

For the attacks coming from behind, he turns around and knocks them off by expanding the magic power from his hand.

The mysterious lurker in the shadow had been waiting for a right moment to ambush Zyun like how he did to Kazu and Fyo.

He releases another wave by clapping his hands in an intent on removing the magic from Zyun's hands.

As soon as the wave passes through Zyun, the golden light in his hand didn't vanish.

In surprise, he claps his hand again. It didn't work. Instead, Zyun knocks down a goblin with his fist.

The lurker claps again in spite, but again the result remains constant, but this time Zyun sends a goblin flying in the air.

He claps his hand again and again rapidly without too long a gap between them, but every time but he claps, Zyun takes one goblin down.

Fyo and Fanny watch in awe as Zyun single handedly dominates the entire horde of goblin with minimal effort.

"Zyun senpai's strength never fails to surprise me…" Fyo mutters as her eyes gleam over the fight scene happening in front of her.

"Yeah, he's strong as hell." Fanny reply. "But I was just so close-... ahh, God damn it. never mind…"

"Huh?" Fyo looks at Fanny in confusion.

As Zyun continues to fend off the attacks and assault at the same time, a few goblins from the tree adjust their bows towards Zyun. With a sinister laugh, the goblins let go of their strings collectively, unleashes a small storm of arrows at Zyun.

Before the arrows hit him, Zyun quickly leaps up in the air. In his palm, light starts to concentrate, eventually materializing a long golden sword.

He grabs the sword and throws it at the branch where the goblin archers were standing. As soon as the sword reaches them, it explodes, blasting the goblins away from the impact.

When he lands on the ground, Zyun is greeted by few more arrows, coming right at him from the opposite direction. He bends his head slightly and dodges them.

At the same time, the sword from earlier passes over Zyun's head and then shreds away at the goblin archers on the tree.

Now, all that's left are the few goblins in front of him. Their numbers have been pummeled down greatly by Zyun's immense strength.

They hadn't anticipated this outcome. The remaining goblins grunt at Zyun angrily while a few goblins step back in fear.

Zyun then decides to wipe out the remaining goblins with his next move. He places his right hand on the ground and activates a summoning circle. From the circle a huge sword showered in golden light falls at Zyun's feet.

"That is-"

"The holy sword, Aggraval!" Fyo replies back.

"But doesn't senpai only use that sword for defense?" Fanny asks.

"Yeah, unlike his other swords Aggraval is mostly used for protective and defensive mechanics. But-" Fyo lowers her tone "There is this one spell, that Aggraval can produce. I have seen it used once by senpai."

"What kind of spell is that?"

"Well, you are about to see it soon. But I'm kind of concerned about this."

Zyun grips Aggraval by the hilt with both hands and raises it high in the air. Aggraval ripples out with an enormous surge of power as it prepares to unleash its attack.

After gathering enough power, Zyun brings down Aggraval into the ground with almighty force. He unleashes a devastating cone of blazing light power in the front, wiping out every goblin in its path.

Fanny bulges his eyes out and watches with an open mouth "He... destroyed nearly half of the forest!"

Fyo sighs, seeing the collateral damage left behind by Zyun's attack.

"That's what I was worrying about, when he uses that attack, he always goes overboard."

Zyun picks up Aggraval from the ground and lets it rest upon his shoulder. He then shakes his head slowly, knocking down his hood and unveiling his messy dark hair.

Zyun is a young lad with an appearance of your go-to-guy. He is tall, has fair complexion, with two big round red eyes and is very physically fit. Despite having flawless characteristics, Zyun had never succeeded in getting a girlfriend in his LIFE.

With his sword slowly dispersing in the air, Zyun approaches both Fyo and Fanny with a muffled step.

"Eh? He's coming for us?" Fanny shakes in fear as Zyun walks towards them without saying anything.

"I blame Fanny." Fyo replies in monotone.

Then unexpectedly, Zyun hits both in their heads with a light chop.

An "Ouch" comes out of both Fanny and Fyo

"Now, who gave you three the permission to venture deep inside the forest?" Zyun asks while looking intimidating.

"We were on a mission senpai." Fanny replies as he continues rubbing his head. "To capture some goblins that had been causing trouble near the village. And, most likely they deliberately let us chase them here to ambush us."

"Mission? You three are still shouldn't be allowed to go on a task without any officers from the guild. Who gave you the permission?

"We are ready to go on missions senpai. We are no longer novices. What just happened was because of me. I got kind of carried away...."

"It was Selene-senpai…" Fyo answers.

"Selene? But why would she? she should know-"

"Anyway senpai, how is Kazu, is he going to be alright?"

"Yeah, he is fine. He is just sleeping right now. Most probably from the injury and lack of mana in his body. Don't worry, he is going to be alright."

"Oh... thank God…" Fanny sighs.

"Anyway, lets head back. the sun is already setting."

Zyun then picks up Kazu and slings him over his shoulder.

"By the way Zyun-senpai, did you notice any remnants of magic or any suspicious people nearby?" Fyo asked.

"Magic remnants? Nope. What are you talking about?"

"Earlier, during our battle, there was this strange magic emanating from somewhere nearby. I couldn't tell exactly what it was, but as soon as it reached us it immediately dispelled our magic.

"Hmm, that is strange. To my knowledge there shouldn't be any monsters here in this forest that would have the ability to use magic. You sure it wasn't because your mana was low? You know it happens most of the time with Kazu"

"No, I am completely sure there was someone or something here that was using some kind of magic." Fyo tries to explain… "If howitzer has enough mana, I should be able to pinpoint-"

"Alright that's enough. We're heading back. Its already late and we're not sure what monsters will come out during this time, and most importantly, Kazu needs rest."

"Umm... yeah, you're right"

As Fyo turns around, she quickly gets reminded of something important.

"Umm Senpai~... can we bring back some of those goblins to the guild... it was part of our mission to bring some of them captive so-"

"No."

"Ehhhhhhh why"

"Aye everyone let's go back to our guild!"

"Our meal...."

"Don't worry, I will treat you guys to a big one tonight"

"Okay....".

Fyo figures out that there was no use in trying to convince Zyun, looking hopeless and drained, she slowly walks towards the exit with her back slumped. "My gold...."

"Yeah, Fyo stop being selfish and act like a proper human being for once." Fanny then shoots out a menacing stare "also stop being delulu. Kekeke!"

"Delulu?" Fyo's blood starts to boil after hearing the word. "What the heck did you just say?"

"Delulu, delulu"

"That's right, I'm going to kill you right here."

Holding her staff, she quickly chases after Fanny.

"Now repeat that word again, Floppy"

"Whoops! My bad. You, gorilla woman!"

"Kyaaaa...Fanny! Howitzer, incinerate!"

Hi, my name is Zyun. I'm mage and a member of the guild Chronicles. It has been a month since I joined and couldn't be happier to be part of it.

Although our guild is very far away from being perfect, there are many here that have the potential to become a S class wizard in future.

To be honest I am really liking this guild so far, although the village is a bit cramped and out of reach from the technologies, but with everyone's co-operation, I'm sure we can fix it.

The guild, the people of Gardania, they're one big family to me and I promise that I will give them my best to shape this place into a proper town so that in the future, lots of people will come here.

Right now, it is kind of a pipe dream, but I really want to make it happen.... to become the number one guild in the whole continent. And I will make it happen, no matter what.
