4: Suishou

‘Why do we keep visiting this office? I need a break from this woman’s screeching voice.’

We’ve been locked up in the guidance office for wrongdoing we never committed.

From a wooden door, Miss Yamamura came into view holding a bowl of ice cream and a spoon.

‘So she just excused herself to get that fucking ice cream?’

She faced us and leaned her buttocks on the rim of her table.

“It seems like no one wanted to spill the truth, huh?” asked Miss Yamamura, averting her eyes from one to another while her brow hiked up her sleek blond hair.

“We did, but you never listen to our explanation, Madame,” I growled.

“Your words are invalid if you don’t have any evidence that will prove that you four were not at the scene, and to prove your innocence.” She scooped from her ice cream cup and shoveled it straight into her mouth.

“No one saw us there,” said Louie.

Five days ago, there was a ruckus that happened in an abandoned building near our school. All of our alibies are true. I was at work when it happened, Louie was at home and doing a project, Key was with her parents for a family business meeting, and Litty fought with her brother. That’s why she’s staying at the hotel at the moment. When that happened, we'd had a video call, so we knew that no one from our group was at the abandoned building at that time.

“But, the talk of those who were in the hospital said that they fought a bunch of females. No one else came into my mind that looks for fun aside from you, Chaos.”

We exchanged glances. One name rings in my mind, in our minds.

“But, we aren't the only girl group who look for fun,” Litty fessed, crossing her arms and placing her right thigh above the resting left. “Chaos contains four ladies and not twenty-something.”

“There's another one aside from your group?” Brows knitting, Miss Yamamura stood up, straightening her back.

“They are from Za Sunō University,” Key answered.

‘The Snow University again.’

I clicked my tongue in annoyance. That naughty group came from that university alone.

“Suishou is the name,” I added.

I can’t forget that group with whom I once fought a few months ago. I thought they would stop and stop bothering us. I guess they will not. They don’t stick with their words.

“I see,” Miss Yamamura mumbled, bobbing her head. “If that’s the case, then I’ll talk to our principal about this matter and confirm if that university had that group.”

We sighed in relief knowing we wouldn’t stay any longer here in the office, but my breath hitched when she pointed the spoon that she used to scoop her ice cream in front of my face. I moved my face back in response.

“And, if I find out that y’all are lying to me,” She smacked the crown of Litty’s head using the stainless tool.

“Ouch!” Litty grimaced and her face contorted from being serious to annoyed.

Louie quickly covered her head using a tissue so that the sticky substance wouldn’t get into her hair. Her face didn’t change and remained blank. When it was my turn, I shielded my head using the back of my palm, instead of directly receiving the light blow, my hand earned the viscid from the spoon.

“Ow!” I grumble.

Key used her book. Poor Litty, she’s the only one who got hit on the head, leaving ice cream on her hair that she is currently wiping off using her handkerchief.

“Here,” Louie whispered as she offered a tissue to wipe my hand. I mouthed, ‘Thanks,’ at her before harshly wiping off the ice cream.

“You’ll be suspended for a week,” she continued. “Now, move your asses and leave! Go back to your classrooms!” she roared.

Finally, she’s letting us go.

Key was the first one to come out, since she was near the doorway, followed by Louie, then Litty. I’m the last to leave, so I’m the one who needs to close the door. But, before I could even shut it, I saw Miss Yamamura using the same spoon she used to hit our heads and scoop another spoonful of the cold dessert.

Once I shut it completely, I faced my friends, disgusted with what I had just witnessed.

“You okay?” asked Litty, brow crawling up.

“What a sore in the eyes.” I made a shiver, growling a tad.

“What do you mean?” Key inquired.

I was about to answer but I saw the group of the Student Council President coming our way. It seemed like my friends noticed my foul mood and snapped their heads at where I was staring at.

“What nonsense did you get yourselves into today?” the tallest of them asked after resting his arm on the other guy that was almost the same height as him.

“We didn’t do anything,” Louie fessed.

“Really? Doesn’t explain why y’all are in front of the guidance office.” The guy who became the taller of them as his elbow rested looked at us in contempt.

“Don’t stick your nose into someone else’s business,” Key deadpanned and walked away.

We followed suit, but I stopped on my track when the President called my name. “What?” I asked, annoyed. I'm close enough to kicking his shin.

“What–”

Lifting my open palm in front of him, I cut him off. “Hold up! It wasn’t us this time. It’s Suishou, not us. We were at peace last night.” He’s irritating. I was always the target of his lectures.

“Why are you always involved in a mess? Can’t you just do some things that a normal student does?” he asked, nearly monotonous.

I shrugged my shoulders, staring at him apathetically. “Na-uh, not me. Trouble is the one who’s after me even though I’m sleeping in serenity at night. And, to answer your question, no. I can’t and will not do what normal students do. That’s boring and I ain't one of them.”
