Chapter 3

Ekta was beautiful and tall. Her appearance was well matched by Nolan.

On the other hand, after Shyla became a housewife, she only wore a T-shirt and long pants without makeup, just like a plain old housewife.

Shyla couldn't be compared with Ekta because, other than giving Nolan the best image of herself, she didn't care for anyone else. "Nolan, this tie is really pretty and it suits you." Ekta held the tie towards Nolan.

Nolan wore a doting smile on his face and said, "Whatever you choose is beautiful."

Ekta smiled shyly and said, "Put it on quickly."

Nolan obediently removed the tie he was wearing and handed it to Ekta. He then put on the new tie around his collar.

Ekta pursed her lips. "This tie is too old-fashioned. Throw it away and wear the new one."

"Okay."

Across from them, Shyla relied only on a few pieces of clothing to hide. She stared at the tie that she had carefully selected this morning, thrown into the trash can, as if her goodwill was thrown away along with it.

"This b*tch, I'll help you beat her up. How dare she have an affair with a married man?" Ruhi cursed.

Shyla quickly grabbed hold of Ruhi's arm and shook her head.

"No, let them do as they please. Don't make a fuss here."

"You're so useless. Nolan is your husband. How can you see your husband with another woman? Doesn't it hurt you to look like that? If I were in your place, I would have taught that s**t a lesson. She should be afraid to look at any other man." Ruhi said aggressively.

Shyla bit her lips bitterly and, with tears in her eyes, she said, "He won't be my husband soon."

Aren't you planning to tell Nolan? It was you who saved him five years ago, but he thought it was Ekta. You hid the truth for so long and are you going to continue hiding it for a lifetime?" Ruhi was exasperated.

Shyla raised her head. Looked Ruhi in the eyes, and said, I had told Nolan the truth, but he didn't believe it. He had lost a part of his memory, so I didn't blame him.

She only hoped that someone would accompany him in the future after her death.

"You know what? You are so useless", Ruhi said with disappointment in her look.

Shyla smiled bitterly.

After parting unhappily with Ruhi, Shyla took a suit that she had carefully chosen, and sent it to Nolan's office. She wanted to give the prepared suit to Nolan so that he would not have to worry about these insignificant matters when he was at work or home.

At the door, she heard Ekta's voice within the office. "Nolan, stop it. It's enough."

The faint moans made Shyla stiffen on the spot. It was not only from the stomachache but also heartache.

Wisps of pain made her entire body convulse. At the same time, a pang stabbed into her heart, so excruciatingly painful that she thought she might die from it right on that spot.

Indeed, the one that Nolan loved Ekta the most. Redness filled Shyla's eyes immediately. The heart that pumped inside of him, the heart that used to love Shyla more than anything else in the world, Nolan now gave it freely to another woman.

All strength left her, and Shyla wavered and almost fell from the sudden wave of feebleness. Still, after some time, Shyla composed herself.

Pushing the door open, she saw Nolan and Ekta lying on the sofa. Ekta's back was almost bare. When Ekta saw Shyla entering the office, she panicked and threw herself into Nolan's arms.

Frowning, Nolan shouted, "Get out!"

Shyla pretended to be calm and smiled. "Miss Turner, you are in such a hurry to flirt with Nolan in the office."

Ekta looked at Nolan with a grievance. Nolan's face turned dark and he said coldly, "Shyla, what Ekta and I have done is none of your business. Get out!"

Clenched her fist, her heart constricted. Shyla felt a warm current rushing out of her throat. She put the suit on the desk and forced a smile. "Nolan, this is your suit. Remember to always bring it with you in the future. Otherwise, when you are too busy at work, you'll need to ask your assistant to prepare them for any social functions. Even when I'm not here, you have to take good care of yourself."

Something was disturbing in his mind when he heard what Shailaja said. Last time she also spoke as well.

"What's wrong with you?" Nolan was displeased and stood behind Shyla, with an expressionless face.

Shyla turned around and gazed longingly at Nolan. "It's nothing. I'm just worried that you won't be able to take care of yourself."

"Don't worry, Miss Shyla. I'll take good care of Nolan." Ekta hooked her arm around Nolan's and gave a mocking smile to Shyla, and said sweetly "I've prepared some seafood porridge for Nolan. Have some too."

Then, Ekta poured Shyla a bowl of porridge from the thermos bottle. At first, Shyla hesitated slightly, still taking the bowl from Ekta. After having a little, the strong fishy taste made her stomach extremely painful.

The smell of blood rushed into her throat. Shyla couldn't put up with it anymore and the bowl fell to the ground. She covered her mouth and rushed to the restroom to vomit.

The red blood dyed the white tiles and the color contrast made them look particularly hideous. At the sight of her blood, Shyla's already pale face whitened even more. As she was looking at her pale face in the mirror, she noticed Nolan walking in, so she quickly turned on the faucet to wash the blood away.
