[Mask of Shadows]
- A dark mask showing only the wearer's eyes. When worn, its wearer can cause it to dematerialize into thick willowy smoke; shifting and writhing, the mask can take on new forms entirely. The voice that echoes out of it is mundane and inconspicuous.
-"A mask that calls for one that wishes to be unnoticed. A fitting trade for your delectable blood. " - Astus, Merchant of Asphodel.
Rarity: Priceless
* Hey everyone! Just wanted to sprinkle in some item descriptions every now and then. I kind've wanted it to have the feel of the description from a dark souls game but I realize that that would be too vague so it's a lot more forthcoming with what the item actually does. *
*Also, I'm planning to focus the perspective back more on Keru for a bit, The past few chapters were only supposed to be a one- or two-chapter interlude. However, that doubled in size. I felt it would be weird if we didn't build up the people in the academy somewhat. *

*Back to the Chapter*
"Wait!! Please don't hurt him he's, my brother." The elf girl said pleadingly while she held a drawn bow at Keru's face.
Her and her brother were only supposed to passively observe the undead delegation to the kingdom.
'How did you implode this mission almost immediately brother. You and your stupid grudges.' She angrily thought to herself
"URGHH!" The young male elf yelled as Keru's thumbs move inside his eye sockets.
"...Kind of already late for that." Keru says in a polite voice while looking at the girl and back the screaming elf below him.
The elf girl was panicked and had tears in her eyes. She was terrified about what was happening. She looked around and noticed that no one was stepping in. Though violence was prohibited in the guild hall, everyone in the predominantly human guild hall heard her brother's racially problematic language. At this point, her brother was lucky that the adventurer's swift and sudden violence didn't cause anyone else to join in on beating her brother.
"Please, I know heard what he said but please, one of his friends was killed by a huma..."
"AGHHH!" The elf screamed louder as Keru dug his thumbs into his skull even further.
"That explains why he's an idiot, that doesn't explain why I should care... I know, why don't I start by cutting off your ears and making you eat it." Keru continued with a soft but audible voice.
An oppressive aura erupted from Keru as he stated his intention to maim and torture the elf. The feeling of sadistic bloodlust filled the guild hall, almost as if everyone could see Keru smiling behind his mask. There was a sense of madness in the air that was making the air thick and hard to breathe.
'He's insane' the girl realized that her brother offended the wrong person.
The elf girl was lost at what to do at this point. The moment she launched the arrow at the adventurer, there was a chance that the other adventurers would side with him over her and her brother. However, she couldn't just let her brother get blinded in front of him. After a short pause she made her resolve to try and rescue her brother and then beat better sense into him later.
"Please... If you don't" The elf girl started.
"That's enough kid." A mature female voice interrupted her ultimatum.
Everyone looked to see their Guildmaster, walking up to them.
"Good afternoon, guild master." Keru replied in a respectful but casual manner as he looked up at guild master Kamila while still not stopping his current eyeball-manipulation.
"Sigh... hey elf-boy your father wrote down that you might cause some trouble if you get here. I just didn't expect that you'd do so immediately." The guild master spoke to the elf in a casual manner as if the said elf was not in the process of being blinded.
"Kid, let that idiot off the hook for now. I'll deal with him." She then spoke to Keru. She released an opposing aura to counteract Keru's maddening killing intent that was strangling the guildhall. Everyone else was finally able to breathe.
"... No problem, but please give me a favor later guild master. I really wanted to crush this one's eyeballs in front of him."
The elf girl and everyone else in the guild hall shuddered at Keru's statement. If not so already, everyone made sure to engrave in their heart that they wouldn't irritate silver and above adventurers; particularly the mentally unbalanced one in front of them.
"Yeah yeah kid, now get off him." The guildmaster said dismissively, but her words instinctively caused everyone to step back and Keru to get off the elf quickly.
"Yes Ma'am." Keru says while getting off the elf.
The elf girl sighs as Keru wipes of the blood on his thumbs on her brother's chest armor. Her relief however was unfortunately interrupted by...
"That's right breeder, you will pay for touching..." To her horror, her brother who was sitting up still had the nerve to throw insults at the adventurer.
THUD!
BANG!
ARGGHHHHH!!!
There was a sickening thud has Keru ran and kneed her brother in the face. He then proceeded to draw the warpick at his side and smash the blunt end into her brother's groin. Her brother let out a sharp pitched wail as his nuts were cracked.
Keru was about to smash his warpick in the elf's other head; however, a voice filled with killing intent halted him in his tracks.
"Boy, didn't I tell you to let him off." Guildmaster Kamila's killer intent was specifically targeted at Keru's this time. However, everyone else was placed on their knees do to the pressure she released.
Keru slowly strained to turn towards the guildmaster and face her.
"I apologize guildmaster, I misinterpreted your command and thought that it was to only let him off for the earlier statements." He said calmly, as if he only committed the crime of misremembering the weather augur for the day.
"Go to my office now, I'll deal with you later." Kamila said sternly, all the while not raising her voice.
"Of course, guild master. I apologize to everyone for the minor inconvenience." Keru said, then facing the rest of the guild and he bowed.
He then proceeded to walk towards the stairs and up into the guild master's office, as the crowd parted before him with great haste.
Guild master Kamila then turned towards the young elf girl.
"Girl, your father felt that there was a chance that your brother would cause a scene in the letter he wrote me. He also told me to send him back home if it did occur and simply speak with you alone. We will do so tomorrow after he is treated, and his transport arranged. Take him out of my guild hall now while his only injuries are his eyes, and a voice with a higher octave; both of which will recover after some time."
The guildmaster still remained a composed temperament; however, the elf girl felt a killing intent that matched the mad adventurer's. The only difference was that the guild master wouldn't waste time torturing them.
In response to this, the elf could only bow her head and apologize as she collected her brother and left the guild hall.
"What are all of you doing, get back to work." Kamila then turned to the rest of the hall and cleared the crowd.
Kamila then shook her head and massaged her temples as she though about the headaches she's had today.
