Another Misfit

After Sebastian managed to tinker around with the dimensional door, they connected it to a glass orb.

A projection of a random time where they could interfere after synchronisation showed itself.

The start of the clip began with a humanoid chimera, and they made decision when it 'evolved'.

Time was of the essence…

"Yup, we can't beat him with pure strength." Hyuk commented when seeing Simon's Jeet Kune Do.

There was no way they could go against that.

Since the chainsmoker's body was being enhanced by two Mystic Tools, things weren't in their favour.

"…So we give up?" The Magician asked this with a rhetorical tone. There was no way they would.

"Wait, I've got an idea!" The handsome Martial King snapped his fingers. A light bulb was lit in his head.

"What?"

"What about…" He whispered his idea into the man's ear, only to be responded to in disgust:

"No." Sebas told him straight.

"What's wrong with my idea?"

"It's dangerous and insane… shameless-"

"Right, and you have a better idea?"

"…One." With a heavy heart, the Magician took out a mysterious-looking medallion from his pocket.

The piece of tech in his hand looked like a Sentai Morpher of some kind, which confused them all.

"And what's this thing?"

"This is called a 'Spectre Medallion'. It's a ritualistic tool used for creating Spells based on their spirits."

"Mister, are you a Super Ranger~?!" Just as he got the ball going, the little boy interrupted the two.

It made Hyuk smirk, and the Magician smile in a way that he didn't know what to say in response.

"That's…" He looked at the fatherly Martial King.

"I'm pretty sure I wouldn't understand it even if you explained it. Just get to the specifics about this."

"Okay…" He moved on from the otherworldly reference Hyuk didn't get: "I'll use a 'Render'."

"What's that?"

"As you already know, Qi doesn't have any specific worldly concepts… but Mana keeps to Attributes."

"That's what makes them stagnant, I know."

"Then what do you think would happen if one concept 'rendered' onto another concept?"

"Your meaning?"

"It'd be easier to show you." Sebas pointed at a nearby table, then snapped his fingers towards it.

A glass on top of it was put into zero gravity without him having to chant or invoke anything.

"Is that the Witchcraft you spoke of before?"

"Please call it 'Wizardry'."

"Fine… So you're using magic. I already knew you could do that." The pervert didn't get the point.

"This is an application of Earth Magic known as 'Earthen Gravity'. I became adept at it to the point I'm able to use my own Personal Biological Gravitational Field. That's why it stems from me."

He waved the glass cup and contents around to show that the gravity was connected to himself.

Then, he continued in a deep tone of voice:

"And THIS is Gravity Rendering of my nervous system." Electricity started to spark from his body.

Although Kang Hyuk wasn't a scientist who could see the deeper layers of his research, his extremely heightened senses as a Martial King allowed him to understand what happened to Sebastian's body.

The Purple Lightning enhancement of the nerves overlaid onto the Personal Biological Gravitational Field he'd imbued with Earth Magic. The power of one Attribute 'rendered' over the other perfectly.

This created a perpetual motion generator of Lightning Energy from different variants all over.

Turning into a beneficial cycle.

He only now noticed that this 'Gravity Rendering' seemed to be perpetually on at all times now.

"…So you've regained some power from not having to keep Simon put together." Was what he realised.

"That's… right, but not what I meant."

"Oh, right. You talked about 'Spectre Medallion'."

"Yeah. It was created using purified magical ingredients and put together using what most here call 'Magic Circuiting'. This ritual tool is used to render the 'Imaginary Attributes' of this world."

"And 'Spectre Possessions' of your world?"

"Exactly."

"Then why didn't you use it earlier?!" Hyuk seemed ready to flip the table. He'd better have an excuse!

"…It's a bit unstable."

"So fix it already."

"Things aren't that simple."

"If they weren't, then why bring it up."

"Actually, I was thinking of tinkering with the 'Imaginary Rendering' I can use with this tool."

"My bodyguard can help you." These words came from Lucia, who was keeping Flinn quiet earlier.

"…Your bodyguard?" Now that they thought about it, how did a young boy come to this higher realm?

There shouldn't be a way for 'the weak' to come here other than the route Adam somehow took.

Somehow, they felt something was different here.

"I summoned him here." These words dropped like a bombshell despite being worded as clarification.

"WHAT?!" "Huh…?"

The two of them looked at each other, and after hearing the rest of the long explanation… Hyuk left.

There was nothing for him to do here.

They only had a day's worth of time before the aristocrats and their spies found something.

Having the King find out also wasn't an option.

Who knew what he'd do after seeing a weakness?

Maybe Adam had full faith in the feudalistic monarchy, but they weren't about to be fooled.

Sebastian sat with them.. an odd look on his face.

What he'd heard from them wasn't something he had ever thought he'd hear 'again' in his lifetime.

"I guess people like you exist in this world too."

"So you believe me?"

"Yeah… There's no other way to explain your sensibilities." The Magician pulled back his hair.

The story they'd heard was way too absurd.

A tale of one Villainess and her 'Replacement'.

Linda Arcadia, being the 'Villainess' of this nation that she was, had 'ended' the game on a high note.

She got the ending she'd wanted after consistently going against fate. Even racking up business deals.

Most of them being for her family's research.

Before Judetta Darby came into the picture, Bryan had already put his hands into strength medicine.

Selling products that'd mess the foundational strength that was equal between most combatants.

There were some that even acted as consumable Spell Slots that were put up in auctions for wealth.

Linda being part of the merchant side of things…

Regardless, when the woman left and that strange new 'sister' entered the picture, it all had changed.

Right now, Lucia was no older than five, and a half-sister to both Linda and her strict older brothers.

She was originally unaware of political issues and still be enjoying her childhood like other girls.

However, things changed this time.

And the source of this change was… that she'd actually travelled back in time from the future!

She was a 'Time Traveller'.

Or to be specific: A little Gaia Human that had been regressed through time once by unknown means.

"Why did you tell us? You could have hid it for a long time." Sebastian felt her choice was too honest. Her eyes held a strange mixture of innocence and maturity he'd never seen before.

"You two saved my life, and really… I would have hid it if you guys hadn't been honest with me first."

"Oh…" The Magician felt a bit embarrassed by her words. Was she offended by their pure arrogance?

Hopefully not. She didn't seem to pay it any mind.

In fact, their attitude was twisted for the better.

"So he's…"

"My summon."

"Can Wizards summon Ascenders?"

"No… but I'm different from my little brother. I was born a Summoner rather than a true 'Wizard'."

"And that lead you to be ostracised in the future."

"…No. What made do 'that' to me was that creepy woman." She referred to her new 'older sister'.

That false prophet that replaced her 'Big Sis'…

Lucia recollected the most prominent memory that returned to her that time she was at her home.

The reminisce of city being burnt to ruins…

That night, the moon was nowhere to be seen. As if it had ran away from the cruelty of that execution.

The bruised teen sentenced to die her future self.

The crowd that had gathered were made up of Commoners, with Nobles watching from home.

It was the entertaining 'execution of a life'.

Those who knew better than to believe baseless propaganda were miles away from the scene.

"Kill her!"

"She needs to die tonight!"

"Bitch, how dare you assassinate the queen?!"

"We'll never forgive you."

Those who had benefited greatly for the Reigning Queen's reformation of working conditions and human rights clamoured. Their fury made them blind to the state of the girl and obvious facts.

Lucia looked towards the person she trusted most.

"I… I didn't do anything! Please! PLEASE! Sister, Clara… Believe me!!!" She put forth her heart.

However, the world rejected her.

The person she had been dying to see the entire time walked onto the platform with her brothers.

They all looked at her with cold eyes…

Her two half-brothers, she could wrap her head around, but even her loving little brother stared.

His eyes holding not a hint of trust for her words.

This was the most excruciating part of it all. How the people she'd loved would treat her like this.

Reality somehow seemed inconsistent…

Didn't they have a good and friendly relationship?

Why was it when the world abandoned her, they too couldn't find in in themselves to give her trust.

The most basic thing a family should have.

Her despondent heart elated when a glimmer of hope appeared in her eyes. Clara was there too.

She was there when the Reigning Queen died and King Ramos went insane. Slaughtering all his kin.

No woman, child, or dog was spared when the past King, in his raving madness, went on a killing spree.

Only Clara was the witness who'd saw it all.

The moment when he realised his wife was long gone, a divine power awakened within the man.

In response, Clara risked her life to put him down.

She was a hero to the masses.

So why didn't she speak up for her? Anyone could see that she had nothing to do with the incident.

It was just her being in the wrong place at the time.

That was when the new Reigning Queen spoke up.

"Please… let me have my last few word with her." A pitiful look appeared on her face, and the world allowed it. The citizens wanted her to die, but their Reigning Queen had the divine right to see her off.

They were still blood sibling, after all.

When she came up to the stand, Clara's eyes looked down on her like she was a pitiful creature.

Though at that time, Lucia didn't see it that way.

Her eyes glinted a pink glow of hallucination.

"Please… You have to believe-"

"Lucia, I really feel sorry."

"Then please, sister… Help me." She wanted to grab her hands in begging, but was too tied up.

Her head was merely lifted by Clara's palms.

,"You know… Since you're my sister, I'll let you in on a little secret." The woman leaned closer to her.

Her whisper causing Lucia's eyes to widen.

She truly felt speechless, only able to blurt:

"Why?" The question still on her mind.

Weren't they all family?

"Aww… Sorry, you were never family to me. Even if we had a blood relation, did that make us sisters?"

"But we could've been…" A derisive look appeared in Lucia's eyes when the pink glint was removed.

Her mental strength had only become stronger.

She didn't want to die… She didn't want to lose…

The bruises up 'criminal' continued: "Because of our blood, we could've been the closest sisters."

"You mean like Linda? Don't try and act like blood relation is an opportunity. You could never 'get' it."

"Sister…"

"Father loves me for who I am. He sees me for who I am… the beauty and ugliness… all sides of it."

"…" Lucia could tell she wasn't talking about their deceased father, but a priest of another religion.

…But wasn't religion banned by her in general?

"You probably wouldn't understand. No one would understand the intimacy of a bond through minds."

"Is that what you did to the rest of them? To me…?"

"Who knows?"

"I'll NEVER FORGIVE YOU!!!" Her eyes glistened with fury beyond what words could ever describe.

She chomped at the woman, only to be held down.

Clara left while saying some words of 'pity'.

"I'm sorry for this… Please put her out of her misery. And don't make her suffer too much." A single year was she'd to make her drama sound more believable. Like it was HER who was insane.

"You will never be forgiven! Gaia… God…"

"What 'God'?" Clara hid her smile, alluding that she was responsible for stuffing out the other 'Small Hope' that was found years before Lara. The one who was called the 'Saintess' of a certain religion.

Regardless, this small hint was useless to her.

She was still about to die on the execution block.

The robed men covering their faces dragging her to the guillotine. Ready to chop off her head.

A shadow started to fall, but it wasn't the blade of the execution tool. Instead, it was a human figure.

*Crash!*

Something slammed straight into the stands from the air. A man in a bright red suit of foreign origin.

He stood there while looking through his visor…

"Hmm? Where are the NemeSins?!" His loud voice was too awful to hear. This situation being familiar.

"A dud…" One of the spectators murmured.

After the purge that happened recently, they were still livid towards any resident from another realm.

King Ramos had successfully demonised their existence after his criminal acts were revealed.

Many screens where noblemen watched turned dangerous. Warning signs alerting the citizens.

Guiding them to take a certain action…

"Kill him!" There hatred shifted towards him.

No one there feared conflict. Their kingdom was built on there being no 'weak' citizen to protect.

Only those Gaia Humans who desired guidance.

The red eyed crowd only halted when the suspicious foreigner lifted his hand to speak.

"Huh? Please stay your hands, citizens!" The man in the red costume quickly stopped their charge.

Cold sweat dripping under his mask.

"I am the protector of arms… The lion of flames. I am… the great Ruby Guardian— Red Ranger!" He posed, and an explosion behind him accidentally blew away the executioners and guillotine.

"…" Everyone looked at him like dead meat.

Did he do it on purpose?

Regardless, the big rioting crowd drew pitch forks.

They might be Farmers and Villagers, but they were still combatants born with fighting ability.

Spirit Essences were lifted into the air.

'…What should I do now?' The events were happening too fast for him to think properly.

The main thing to do now was… tactical retreat!

"Help!" As soon as the Red Ranger heard these magic words, he picked up a teen on the way.

The man not even noticing his unconscious act.

The crowd chased him with the vigour of a thousand bulls. Their rampage was unstoppable.

Though that also cut off Clara's ability to help.

It was too filled with people to move around.

Lucia ended this story by telling Sebastian how she contracted Flinn that day and summoned him later.

Though this story wasn't one the kid remembered.

From the point of view of the child, he was suddenly summoned here a few months ago.

The timing… similar to when the rest 'ascended'.
