Chapter 26- Opening the lockers

The next day she was totally out of it, she checked her mail if she received the records but to no avail, she was soulless, she went with her everyday activity, her only friends who saw Lorrin's listless face got worried and asked her what was going on but, Lorrin couldn't tell them a thing because with all the current information what she would say would just be a stupid ranting of someone, she just made an excuse and left after her daily schedule she came home to check the mail her request passed through and the records were sent. the record she received was no different, she suddenly received a call from her father, who rarely called her, and demanded her back home right away, Lorrin had no choice but to hop in the car her father sent, upon reaching she saw her mother and brother who didn't have time to even greet her and made her way to father's study,

'You seem to request for the accident record anything going on?' (Father)

He didn't even have the thought of asking about her wellbeing or anything he straight asked the topic that he called her for,

'Nothing' (Lorrin)

'Then what got you interested in the files?' (father)

'Though it's an incident that I was involved I didn't have the information so I thought it would be good to have it.' (Lorrin)

'It's just a traumatic incident don't think too much about it and remember memories are not right.' (father)

'I understand, I won't give it much taught.' (Lorrin)

'Stay tonight you can leave tomorrow.' (father)

'I will leave, I will just be a nuisance.' (Lorrin)

'Stay' (father)

'Okay' (Lorrin)

While making her way to her room she was troubled about what her father said, how did he know that Lorrin had requested the files and why did he call her to ask for them, and why mention memories, Lorrin knew something was up, he knew that there was a difference about what happened and what was recorded.

Hyperthymesia: Hyperthymesia is an ability that allows people to remember nearly every event of their life with great precision. Lorrin was one of those people but, this was something no one knew, she kept it hidden since childhood, she never let people know about it.

Lorrin was three, she saw her fellow playmates taking money from another child and went and complained to the caretaker about it the next day but, the kids along with the victim lied about the incident, Lorrin explained everything but, the party that rejected the claim and her caretaker was suspicious of Lorrin's claim, Lorrin placed the total details of who took how much, the number of beatings and every detail which seemed off to the caretaker, who then reprimanded Lorrin for lying and making up things and since than Lorrin never mentioned anything to detail and later to check her condition she found out her situation but, she knew no one would believe her and hid the fact.

Lorrin knew her memories were true and there was something that they were hiding from her, Lorrin wanted to yet confirm it one more time, Lorrin was 3 years old still in her family mansion along with her family that day in her dads' office, there is a locker right behind the swans painting, that day she was playing in the corridor outside her father's office when she peeked inside the door, she saw her father input the password and till now she remembered it quite well and the locker in her mother's separate room behind the flower pots, she had looked by mistake for which she was punished, though her mother taught Lorrin would forget, Lorrin remembered it well just once if she could get those password right there would be no question about the fake information in those files but before that Lorrin needed to get to the locker, Lorrin knew that after 3 am. no one would leave their bedroom and it would be the perfect time for her to check the facts, this invite would work to her favor, Lorrin stayed up till the time, no one would be able to sleep in a damn dusty bed, not taken care of even guest room would be far better than this even the damn heater was not working, it was the time she left her bed to check the outer situation.

Lorrin tried to check the sound and other than the sound of the old clock ticking, it was dead silent, she stayed be the door for some time to check if any movement was there, seeing the silence, she slowly opened the door which led to some sound of the old door moving, she stayed in the dark corridor for some time to check if anyone was there, no movement, she took out her phone for flashlight and using the light she walked through the corridor to her mother's room, her mother used the room for office purposes and she had a different bedroom, Lorrin tiptoed her way to the room, it was the first time for Lorrin to do something like this her heart was racing she could hear her own heart beat like crazy, she was afraid if anyone would wake up and question her, never did this distance feel this longer before, she finally reached the room putting the password was a risky task as the lock in the house usually made sound when opened and if the password is wrong it made an even louder sound, Lorrin started to input the password it was a month and year, Lorrin always tried hard to find what this month-year actually meant but to no avail she stayed still for a moment before inputting the last digit, if right, there is a problem, if wrong, there is still a problem but, she had come a long way and going back would be stupid she needed to confirm this, she tapped the last digit, the green light symbolled her victory but, to her surprise the lock had been silenced and even the light was just a bit from a small spot, Lorrin entered the room, the same old decor, Lorrin went ahead near the flower pots and started to shift them as slowly as possible to not make a loud noise even though the rooms were soundproof there was a fear in Lorrin as this was not something that was proper but, this needed to be done, the locker was in the same old location, she started to remove the wallpaper type thing and that locker was now right in front of her, she stood still to process what was going on but she suddenly heard a thump noise as if someone had just crashed on a sofa like an animal jumping on it, she saw that the window was open and someone just landed on the pool chair, everyone other than her brother was home so it was most likely her brother coming back drunk, this scene told her that she didn't have any time left though no one will know where she is but a slight mistake will end it for her,
