Fairy Tale of the Fallen Queen

"Hahahaha!!!" A bone chilling laugh that only a madman could make resounded out from the water below the waterfall as a man with gold, purple, and gold hair with horns could be seen laughing. "Finally, something is going right for me for once!"

After listening to the system telling him about the rewards, Eclipse's mind went back to the 10 free summons for his skill he would be given upon completing the quest by surviving 10 minutes of being chased by the thunder mice. A demonic smile spread across his face showing a range of emotions like happiness, anticipation, and greed.

"System I want to use the 10 free summons from the quest reward now how do I activate my skill?!" Eclipse quickly told the system unable to hold back his anticipation any longer. As a man of culture, Eclipse had read countless manga, many ways, light novels, anime's, etc. But his favorite category was the ones where the MC got his own subordinates to help them get revenge or conquer the world. Naturally after being given the chance to summon subordinates for the first time he couldn't wait and immediately asked how to summon them.

"The Abyssal Summoning skill is locked until the host uses Abyssal Creation to build their own pocket dimension. Beware, it is wise to choose the place to build your own pocket dimension carefully as you can't change locations once it is set." The system told Eclipse.

"A place to build my own pocket dimension… So is this pocket dimension like my home base or something then?" Eclipse asked.

"It is a place separated from this reality but connected to it at the same time. It is similar to the dungeons demons of this world create, but yours is obviously more powerful and better as a mutated and upgraded version of their skill. The Abyss you create will be your new home and will provide many advantages. But beware, with great rewards comes great risk." The system replied.

"A core will be created that the pocket dimension is built around with the source of its power being the soul of the host. If the core is destroyed then the host will die in kind. As the host gets stronger, their soul will in kind get stronger also which means that the Abyss will be able to grow along with you." The system said informing Eclipse of the danger of using the skill.

"So then what you're saying is that I should place my Abyss in a spot where no one can find it so I can grow stronger with minimal risk then?" Eclipse asked.

"You could do that, but remember there needs to be risk for rewards. To gain a type of currency called Abyssal Tokens to upgrade the Abyss or summon more units to defend it you need to take a risk. This is because to gain Abyssal Tokens you need to have hostile entities invading the Abyss. Tokens are generated based on how long the hostile entities are in the Abyss for or if they die inside it. The stronger the entities are and the longer they are there the more tokens that will be generated." The system replied.

"I see, since my skill is similar to the demons of this world's skill, what do they usually do?" Eclipse questioned.

"Demons usually place their dungeons entrance in an area where it is hidden but will be eventually discovered eventually over time. This way they can build their strength enough before being discovered to defend it and then when discovered they can start raking in the rewards more securely. The primary target they go after is usually adventurers, but hostile monsters can also generate tokens." The system said. "Beware if a hostile target is subdued and not killed the laws of this world will prevent you from gaining tokens from them over time to prevent enslaving hostile entities to farm tokens."

"Dang my idea of capturing hostile monsters for points is out the window then." Eclipse mumbled as he assumed that the last comment by the system was made after reading his thoughts. "Based on what you said, can you tell me of the area I'm in and where you would think a good location would be to build the entrance?"

"You are in the Ancient Jungle Arcata on the planet Strazalxia. The Arcata Jungle is approximately 10,000 miles big and divided into five rings. The outermost ring is raised around 1,500 feet above its surroundings, resting on top of a tall and foreboding cliff. As you go further in there are 4 more rings that the jungle is divided into, each one separated by a tall cliff that gets bigger the deeper in you go with the fifth and final ring of the jungle at the center being the highest of all. The outer rings have weaker entities living within the jungle's terrain, while the inner rings have the strongest entities." The system said.

"Even though the jungle is on another continent, it is widely recognized as being its own continent and has multiple kingdoms and nations on the first and second ring. There are a few more powerful nations on the third ring, but no nations have been established on the fourth or fifth ring as strong entities capable of single handedly toppling entire nations fight for supremacy there."

"Because it is safer on the lower rings where the host can grow more safely early on, it is recommended to choose a place on the first ring where you currently fell down to moments ago. There are also many nations on this ring that have adventurers and soldiers that can be used to generate tokens." The system concluded by giving its final statement.

"I see…" Eclipse said looking around the area he was swimming in. Surprisingly there was water in every direction as far as he could see except for an island up ahead to his right. "Where am I currently, and would this general area be a good spot since kingdoms need to be built around sources of fresh water?"

"You are currently still in a part of the Serpentine River that flows through all five rings. There are two kingdoms of the lowest rank that occupy both sides of the river in this general area a little further down away from the lake that forms under the waterfall that you are currently in. Because of this, it would be a good idea to build your Abyss somewhere around the area." The system responded.

Looking around one more time after hearing that he was in a lake connecting to the river he was floating down, Eclipse tried to spot the shore to no avail. However, he did spot in the distance what looked like an island maybe about 2 miles big.

From this distance it was still hard to make out many details of the island as a constant mist was formed around the lake and on its surface from the waterfall overhead. But there was something even more intriguing than the island that Eclipse only noticed when he started swimming towards it.

While making his way there through the water he realized he couldn't hear any sounds. No sound came from him swimming while making his way through the water, nor sound from waves or other creatures that should be in the water. Not even sound from the thunderous waterfall that was close by and could easily eclipse all sound in the area. The lake was truly a place without any sound at all.

Stopping for a moment to take this in Eclipse noticed the other peculiarity shortly after. Not only were there no sounds, but there were also no waves at all. Even the ripples created from Eclipse swimming only traveled a few feet before vanishing entirely. This resulted in the lake having a surface similar to that of glass as if the water was frozen but still in a liquid state.

Getting unsettled by his surroundings, Eclipse quickened his pace towards the island. "System what's going on here? Why is there no sound or even a ripple of waves?" Eclipse asked in a hurried tone swimming as fast as he could now.

" You are currently in the Tranquil Lake of Solitude, a place with minimal sight, no sound, and no waves. It is estimated to be around 15 miles wide and has an island around 2 miles big at its center. It has a lack of hostile monsters in the water making it a sort of safe zone for adventurers who are tired and in need of rest making it a popular spot for them to frequent. No one knows why the lake is like this, but legends and fairy tales tell of a powerful entity imprisoned somewhere at the center of the island." The system said. "The story goes like this."

"Once upon a time long ago there was a maiden more fair and beautiful than any in the land. She appeared as if out of thin air in the midst of a great war that was being waged across an entire continent for over a hundred years. Immediately she was sought after for her beauty that captivated the hearts of people from all races and genders. With not only her personality and charms, but also with powerful otherworldly abilities, the maiden formed a small nation on a corner of the continent. This nation was a paradise where creatures of all races lived in peace and harmony, protected by their kind hearted and powerful queen from the century long war."

"Over time the queen fell in love with a common farmer, and together they had triplets. Two girls, one the eldest and the other the youngest, and a boy who was the middle child. Each child took partially after their mother who had hair that was said to be every color of the spectrum. Their mother with her rainbow colored hair could use any and all types of magic known, and even magic that no one ever knew about. The children however, could only use magic that aligned with the colors of their hair that they got from their mother. Individually they were strong, but not nearly as powerful as their mother the queen, but together they could rival even her when they grew up."

"One day while their mother was away, going off to another nation on a different continent to negotiate, the three evil kings that had been waging a war that spread throughout the entire continent for over a century called a cease fire for the first time. During this momentary ceasefire the old tyrants cooked up a scheme and sent in their most powerful commanders from each of the three nations. Each commander's power was equivalent to an entire army. Because of this, the entire small and peaceful nation that could only be described as a paradise for all races fell over night. The denizens of that nation mercilessly slaughtered and tortured till not a single soul was left alive."

"Upon reaching the palace, they killed off all the guards and kidnapped the three children with unbelievable potential, one taken to each of the three kings. The father and all those close to the queen were tortured and killed slowly in a fashion that heretics of the religious nation the queen was currently visiting would be killed. Their bodies were then put on display in front of the palace gates for the queen to see upon her arrival home. After executing this plan all in the span of one night, the three colossal nations went back to their century long war, pretending as if nothing ever happened in the first place."

"Once the queen finished negotiations, she quickly returned home to tell her three little gems of all the sights and people she had seen and met. However, there was no home left for her to return, nor a family for her to cherish and love. Instead there was only death and ruin there to welcome the queen. She instantly fell into despair crying and screaming at the sight of her husband and loved ones, all the while frantically searching the entire palace for her children. Alas all she could find was bodies of people killed in combat and tortured to a point where they begged for death."

"Through tear soaked eyes that became streams of blood, the queen took quick note of the way the people were killed and tortured, noticing that it was similar to the way heretics were killed in the nation she recently visited. Blinded by rage and assuming that the nation invited her over for negotiations to take her away from her nation and family, she instantly departed for revenge without a second thought. Upon reaching her destination, she not only destroyed the religious nation which was one of the heads and most powerful civilizations on that continent. But she also obliterated the entire continent that it was located on along with countless nations that called it their home. All of this happened in the time span of less than an hour."

"Noticing the uncontrolled destruction and bloodlust coming off of the fallen queen, various ancient powerhouses from all corners of the nearby continents all came together to try and subdue the fallen queen. The fight lasted for weeks with various nations getting caught in the crossfire and being destroyed. After a long battle that left the land scarred for thousands of miles, they managed to imprison the queen as they didn't have the power to kill her."

"For her countless crimes she committed in blind rage and fury, they condemned her to be imprisoned for all of eternity at an unknown location, never to see the light of day again. The end." The system said. "Though no one knows where the fallen queen was imprisoned or if she ever even existed, one of the popular theories is that she was imprisoned somewhere on this very island. It is believed that her presence, even though sealed away, is what causes all of these phenomena."

"And to think all I wanted was to just be able to relax and enjoy my new body for just a single day in peace." Eclipse said as he took his first step on the island talked about in fairy tales.
