Magic Potion

Syrena's eyes widened when she heard the foreign man's explanation. Confidence in Syrena's failed engagement was rising again.

"What do you mean? Explain to me, I don't understand!"

With a sweep of a hand, a cauldron appeared on the stone table. Syrena blinked her eyes many times. Even the princess's hand rubbed her eyes to ensure her eyes weren't wrong.

Well, a clay cauldron surprisingly appeared before Syrena. So magical! Inside the cauldron was a thick, boiling green liquid. Syrena's eyes searched for the fire under the boiler, but nothing.

Suddenly the mysterious man pulled out a few strands of Syrena's hair.

"Aww! What are you doing?" Syrena protest.

Without answering Syrena's question, the mysterious man plunged the princess's hair into the cauldron, causing a flash of light. The brunette princess was gazing at the movement of the hands of the mysterious man. His mouth was chanting a spell.

Reaching for something from under the mantle, the mysterious man took out a black fur and threw it into the cauldron. Once again, there was a flash of light but a slight explosion. Then the mysterious man's hand floated over the cauldron as if stirring the liquid within it in a vortex.

"Are you sure about your request?" asked the mysterious man suddenly.

"What do you mean?" Syrena furrowed her brows.

"Turning the prince into a terrible one."

"Ah... Yes, I'm sure!"

Nodding with a smile, the mysterious man took a glass bottle from under his cloak. Then quickly, the mysterious man put a thick green liquid into a glass bottle. Miraculously, the liquid turned clear without any sediment at all in a few moments.

"Just drop this potion in the prince's drink so your wish will come true." Once again, a smirk appeared on the mysterious man's lips.

"Really? How much did I have to pay to get this potion?" Princess Syrena's eyes lit up with enthusiasm.

"Free."

"So unconvincing! I'm not used to free stuff!" The princess raised both eyebrows at the same time.

"Fine, if you don't want it."

The mysterious man retracted his outstretched hand.

"No... No... I want it!"

The mysterious man smirked again as he handed the bottle containing the magic potion to Syrena. The princess still couldn't believe the thing in her hand.

"I'm just reminding you. Bread that has fallen into the mud will be of no use unless you are willing to eat it yourself."

Syrena chuckled, hearing the mysterious man's words, "Why do I have to eat muddy bread? Meanwhile, in my house, there are piles of fresh bread distributed in the market for free every day."

"Your Majesty, you're daydreaming." Evania's soft voice startled Syrena.

The brunette princess looked at the maid in the green dress in front of her for a moment. The princess's gaze returned to the food available in front of her. If Syrena remembered the reason for being fed, she wanted to throw the plate in front of her.

"Eat a lot, Your Majesty! Tonight will be your first night with Prince Agenor." The black-haired girl smiled enthusiastically.

"Why do you look so happy?" Syrena asked in an annoyed tone.

"Come to think of it; you fit well with Prince Agenor."

"Impossible! More than once, he almost killed me. I'm not sure he's not going to torture me in bed."

The black-eyed maid girl was silent, listening to Syrena's words. Syrena's negative feelings were natural. But as a lower-class girl, imagining life side by a handsome prince was a fantastic thing. So there's nothing wrong with Evania for hoped a miracle in her master's bed.

"Keep calm, Your Majesty. I wish you a pleasant first night with Prince Agenor." The girl smiled sincerely.

Syrena could only sigh tiredly; her hands felt so heavy to put a spoonful of food into her mouth.

"Oh yeah, how's your Majesty's wound?"

"Already better. But I think it still leaves a little scar."

"So that you know, Your Majesty. When you was faint, Prince Agenor looked so attentive to you."

"He did it because he wanted to torture me longer."

"Your Majesty, just think a little positive!"

"You can say that because he's not on top of you wanting to kill you."

As a servant in Prince Agenor's palace, Evania knew for sure the character of her master. In Evania's eyes, the prince was indeed a firm figure. But he is not a human who has no feelings. The prince, who was known as a demon on the battlefield, was still a human. Oh no, Evania forgot. The prince had transformed into a winged human that looked like an animal.

Before Syrena headed to Prince Agenor's room, Evania helped Syrena clean herself in the maids' bath. The space is spacious; there were only small stone tubs in some places filled with water.

With only a cloth wrapped around her body, Syrena sat in one corner of the maid's bathroom with Evania. The girl helped Syrena clean her hair and fetch water.

"See that woman? Is she a princess?" the maid's whispers rang out in the corner of the maid's bath.

"I am not sure. The lady even bathed with the maids and slept in basement." The curly-haired maid joined in the chat.

"Don't talk recklessly! The woman will immediately go to the prince's bed!" said another servant then, followed by the laughter of the servant girls.

Evania's hands clenched tightly; Syrena's trusted servant didn't like his master being insulted. As Evania was about to approach a group of gossiping maids, Syrena grabbed the maid.

"Do not listen to them, Your Majesty. They are just jealous, Your Majesty," said Evania.

"I don't care," said Syrena.

After finishing the shower, Evania helped Syrena dress up in her room. The servant girl was still enthusiastic to fund a woman who didn't look lustful.

"Look, you are gorgeous!" said Evania enthusiastically.

The brunette princess just sighed and looked at her beautiful face in the mirror. The princess tucked a hair pin with pointed ends.

"Your Majesty..." Evania's eyes bulged.

"Don't worry; this is just to protect me if he wants to suck my blood again."
