The King's Suspicion of Syrena

After that, the guards laid Agneor on his bed. Syrena stood beside the bed with the king. She kept praying, wishing her husband's safety.

Before the doctor came, the king asked Syrena.

"Did you ever see him pass out during your marriage to Agenor?"

"Yes, since I married him. I've seen him pass out several times. It was in the dining room once and in our bed."

The king narrowed his eyes while staring at Syrena suspiciously. He had heard from Agenor that his daughter-in-law did not love his son.

It's a shame, considering that Agenor was one of the best men in Lagardioz. Even so, the king remained calm as if he had never spoken anything to Agenor.

"Why?"

Of course, Syrena couldn't possibly tell the king about Nyxe or about Agenor's change in appetite.

"You're daydreaming, Princess Syrena! Are you hiding something from me?" asked the king with his eyebrows raised together.
