"No, I was scared." She replied coldly but could not hide hesitance.
"Because I was about to die."
She looked at him firmly, "I still hate you."
He smirked and held the back of her head, "Jane. Maybe that's why you made noise despite my refusal and it bit me out of fear."
Jane Dover suddenly realised that she was the reason the snake bit him.
"That snake had bitten you. Why didn't you kill him?" She asked to ignore the embarrassment.
"It did well."
She looked at him.
"I could see that a person doesn't hate me." He smiled.
"If he comes back and bites me..."
"Before that, I will kill it." His gaze turned cold. Jane Dover swallowed saliva and released herself from his arms. Seeing her back, he sighed deeply and closed his eyes while leaning back his head.
Jane Dover turned back and looked at him with complicated emotions.
"Are you alright?" She asked. He nodded and opened his eyes.
