Great One's Gift Box

The game tutorial was composed of five stages. Every stage had a significant impact on every player.

For example, in stage 1, once a player had completed the quest given to them, they would receive a weapon of choice as a reward. The purpose of this stage was for the players to familiarize themselves with the hand-to-hand combat as well as with the new world that was introduced to them.

In any case, since players would receive a weapon once they cleared the first stage, they could finally fight more comfortably in the stages to come. And also, once they picked their weapon, they would unlock a new system function, which was the [Weapon Mastery]. This allowed players to gain more benefits the more they practiced the weapon they had chosen from the first stage. That said, most players would stick to that weapon, since they wouldn't gain weapon mastery over the other weapons.

In stage 2, once a player had completed the given quest, they would awaken and learn about their ability as a reward. In stage 3, they would receive a passive skill. In stage 4, they would learn an active skill or two. And lastly, in stage 5, they would obtain a job class.

All of these rewards had a huge impact on each and every player as this might also define their future. It was way too important that every player would definitely try their best to accomplish a greater cause in order to build up a strong foundation.

But in Vi's case, there were no such things. Not only did he escape the first tutorial ground, but all the other four stages as well. As a result, he was banned from taking the game tutorial as he had quit it before he could accomplish anything.

That said, he didn't get a weapon of choice in the first stage, much less, unlock the new system function: [Weapon Mastery]. He also hadn't awakened his ability or obtained a passive skill, nor did he learn any active skills. He also didn't have a job class. He didn't get any reward from the tutorial ground since he had escaped from it. And to make things worse, he even received a curse. Just how unlucky was he to be struck by these misfortunes?

Everything mentioned above would put him into insanity. However, this time, he wasn't bothered that much at all. After all, something more intriguing caught his attention. It was something that gave him hope amidst his misfortunes. And that was the title he had received from the system. The title, Disciple Of The Great One!

It had to be known that obtaining a title wasn't that easy. Players must first achieve great things or be recognized by many people in order to get a title. And having a title could only mean extra benefits.

But Vi had obtained one just because a certain being had taken a liking to him. That was sweet of him. It was as easy as drinking water. He really was itching to know what help this title could possibly do for him. He couldn't help smiling, thinking about it.

On top of that, he also had received a gift box from that Great One. That was also generous of him. Vi couldn't help but be glad for whoever that person was.

"Inventory," Amidst Vi's contemplation, he muttered in a low voice as he summoned the system and looked for the Inventory. Just like what he had expected, a graphical representation of many slots appeared in a hologram screen projection.

In the many empty slots of his Inventory, a single item was placed in the very first slot. It had an icon of a black wooden box, and he felt something peculiar the moment he saw it.

On top of the icon, a name written in black was placed. A slight frown appeared on his face as he stared at it intently.

Black name? That was the first time Vi had seen it. Even on the internet, or even hearing it from other people, he didn't see nor hear such a case. Just what kind of item was this and what was its grade?

Looking at the name of the item he received from the system, or perhaps, from the Great One, Vi had his eyes narrowed a bit. But why did he feel his heart beating so wild as though it had just met its first love? His hand was even shaking uncontrollably. He couldn't help but swallow a mouthful of saliva, staring at the only item he had.

"Tsk, since I have nothing to do anyway, I suppose it won't hurt if I open this item..." Vi muttered as he pondered about it. He then nodded twice as he intended to open the gift box. That said, he opened his mouth as he continued, "Great One's Gift Box, open."

"Yes," Vi didn't hesitate as he confirmed.

Seeing the things that he had received from the Great One's Gift Box, Vi had his eyes constricted. Each item caught his attention, causing his heart to hasten a beat. All these things... They were all new to him. Judging by their names, he couldn't help but swallow a mouthful of saliva as he knew at first glance that these things weren't ordinary. He didn't know why, but he felt like his miserable life would finally turn the table for him.

"Damn, it seems like I am still not out of luck." Vi grinned widely, his hands were shaking in excitement as he added, "I can't waste my time staring at these things. I must hurry up and see what kind of items these are."

"Blessing Of The Great One!" Vi then commanded the system with the same grin. He wanted to see what kind of blessings could this Great One give to him.
