Chapter 11: Dark, Moist... And Cold

As they moved through the dark tunnels, cold and naked, Solomon – now called "Sol", by overly muscular, red-headed football stars – found himself no worse for wear. His body didn't seem to mind the cold, or perhaps he was in shock, but despite not being able to "see" anything, he still had an awareness of all the living things they passed in the sewers.

From the smallest of spiders to the largest of rats, he could sense something he could only guess was their "life-force." The world was invisible to his human eyes, but it still appeared in great detail to his mind nonetheless. Pulling his eyelids shut did nothing to keep out the impression of creatures and energies moving among them. Whatever gave him this awareness, it was not his eyes.
