Security at the pack house had been tightened and all werewolves were on edge. Alpha Roman had called a town hall meeting, open to all citizens of Starling City. It was scheduled for the last day of Spring Break. It was a smart move on the Alpha's part, as everyone who had left the city for vacation would be back by then. He also scheduled it at night, so that vampires would be able to attend without any risk to their safety. That led Nora to believe that it wasn't an optional meeting. 


Dante and the twins had been unreachable in the days leading up to the meeting. The longer she went without seeing Dante, the more irritated she felt. At points, she felt physically ill. It was part of the mate bond. From the book she learned that, had Dante marked her, her symptoms would be worse. Worry for Dante coursed through her blood.
