Chapter 26: Declaration of War

I WARNED YOU.

Nora turned the postcard in her hands, over and over. It had been at her door the morning after she met with Dante. A wisteria blossom accompanied it. There was no question who had left it. But how? How could have he possibly known that Dante had met up with her? Pure, unfiltered dread flooded Nora's body. No good would come out of this. None at all.

However, it didn't stop her from trying to contact Dante. Kai had tried to contact the twins. They hadn't been in dance class since the incident, and he was worried. Nora hunkered down in her corner of the library, doing her best to stay out of the way and unseen. All of her requests to Dante went unanswered. Day after day, she sent them, and day after day she got nothing back.

Kai had better luck. He finally managed to get a hold of Ruby. But the message didn't give them any peace. 'Dad is angry with us. He knows about Nora. The wedding is still on. We're okay. We’re grounded. Don’t message us for a while. Please.'
