Chapter 45: A Test

Diego’s POV

“Too long we’ve allowed the Kelly’s to sit in silence, Aldo. It’s time we demand for them to pick a side. It’s time that we demand for them to take action,” Constance Demarco emphasized his statements by pounding the table with his fists.

Aldo sat in silence at the head of the table, his finger rubbing the same pattern over his top lip. Back, and forth, as he watched the representatives of the syndicate families argue. He devoured the malice in the air as they grew thirsty for blood.

“Kelly is useless,” Petrov scoffed from the other side of the table, his posture relaxed with one ankle propped up on the knee of his other leg. “He brings nothing to the families that no one else could offer. Leave the old man alone.”
