Chapter 32

Henry had one case packed and a second which he was currently filling with clothes, weapons, and ammunition. Thomas Hooverton stood at the edge of the room, watching in silence as his grand employer had nothing but looks to send his way. Henry closed the case and locked it for good measure, stepping within inches of his tame lawyer.

Hooverton shuffled in position for a moment. “Mr. B–Barker seems like a nice young man, a fine addition to your establishment, sir!” He said, tone less than comfortable and lacking in anything resembling strength or courage.
