Chapter 31: Tampered

I can faintly hear the shouts and cheers from a distance, signaling that the second trial has begun. Sitting on a lone rock lodged within the earth’s soil, I take a deep breath and reel my head back, looking at the blue skies peaking between the brush of tree leaves.

This has clearly taken a toll on me. I’ve spent the past hour trying to control my emotions, but it’s proven to be quite difficult. Although, now that my tears are spent, I’m in the period of mellowing. Or, at least, I think I am.

Slapping my cheeks, I psych myself up.

You can do this, Anna! All will be good. Just go up to Ray, tell him how you feel, and it’ll be all sunshine and rainbows after. Yes, yes it will.
