Charlotte Reeves, a wealthy middle aged painter must face the reality of raising a troublesome 8 year old son alone after the divorce from her husband, Detective Jon. All efforts from her best friend Sheila to talk her into a new relationship proves futile until one day. Charlotte is invited to her son's school after he is involved in a fight and there she meets a thrilling young man who later introduces himself to her as "Smile". They start talking and in no time a lonely Charlotte is drawn into his dark secretive world.
     Just then, women begin to die in the small town of Manhattan and as investigation goes deeper, Charlotte fears that she may have fallen in love with a serial killer.

"So what happened?" Smile stared at him. "How come you suddenly lost all the orientation you had and started spending badly."

"You haven't been listening," Luke laughed. "I never said I didn't like spending. I fucking loved it. Spending money was my hobby man. Nothing gave me more joy than spending money, but just the one that I earned myself. I didn't like to spend the old man's money."

"I see," Smile nodded. "And your dad? He always known that you were like this?"

"Yes of course he did," Luke replied. "I got my first record deal rapping off the streets. Man I was damn good back then. I was freestyling and I could go on for up to an hour and still have more words up there. Everyone knew Luke on those streets and that's how I even got my stage name."

"Luke D King?" Smile asked. "That was how you got that as your stage name?"
