When she realized a frown had furrowed my features, she controlled herself.

"Come on, Nick, I prepared the meal for you, so enjoy your meal. By the way, I just want to give you some quiet time to eat. Don't worry, I'll be back before you know it to clear the table," she explained.

I didn't wipe out the scowl that smeared my face, instead, I wanted her to know that I was damn serious about what I just said.

"Honey pie, that doesn't reply to my question, I ask again, have you eaten this meal?" I inquired raising a brow while cocking my head at the corner.

I noticed how she opened her mouth to respond but close it immediately as she had opened it.

I guess she wanted to lie but had sought it out to speak the truth, she better does.

"No, I've not eaten the meal, by the way, I've had breakfast in the morning, and I might as well it supper very soon," she announced.
