Third quest, shop and preparations

There is nothing I could currently do but I could at least try my luck since I don't want my plot armour to stay on for now.

Looking at the ((Try your luck?)) symbol I thought

'Try my luck.'

[Please wait for the outcome

1_______________100

*Ting*

You got lucky! Your plot armour is now inactive for the next 24 hours.]

Phew! Feeling pleased with this outcome, it was time to finish this set of three quests. The first one ended up being a complete nightmare, that resulted in a moment I'll likely never forget; due to my impatience, and stupidity. Maybe there was a little bit of curiosity in there. I should learn to contain my whims and make safer decisions.

Though I thoroughly believe be that the words 'protagonist' and 'safe' should not be in the same sentence together. Sighing I wondered curiously at who or what I'll be reincarnated into when I return to Earth. One thing I never want to be is a pigeon... god do I hate those fuckers. Now isn't the time to explain my hatred for pigeons though.

A little bit of reminiscing, some healing deep breaths to keep me stable. It was time to find out what the next quest was all about.

status: Incomplete

Your role in the universe is defined as being the protagonist. The reason you were chosen is unknown. Your future is unknown. The path you will take, and the events you will face are unknown. Now it's time to finish this tutorial and be ready to head into the unknown. Find your path by travelling to the other world for 3 months. Your mission whether you choose to accept it ("you have to") is to mold your destiny with your actions in this world.

Rewards: Whatever skills and items you collect

Failure: Impossible to fail even in death

"You have received 500 protagonist points to prepare to enter the world to use in the shop that'll be opened temporarily. p.s The clothes you are wearing currently won't come with you.">

Three months! That's an insane amount of time I thought this quest would be much shorter or it could have been a lifetime quest. Something I've observed is I believe the double quotations come from the higher existence that gave me the system, I should keep note of it. Well, I have nothing else to do right now might as well check out the shop and begin preparations for the quest.

So I found the [Shop] tab and opened it.

[[Shop opening...]]

Perusing through from left to right I chose to see the [Miscellaneous items] for things like food and clothing when I go there.

[Miscellaneous items]

1. Trail mix 1kg (1P)

2. Cooked chicken 1kg (1P)

3. Enchanted Cally meat 1kg (1P)

...

Miscellaneous items did indeed have all the necessities I'll need in case of any difficulty in collecting food, water, or clothes, and 'P' seems to mean the protagonist points from earlier. For now, though it'd be best not to be hasty and continue with maybe finding some other convenient items. So I opened the equipment tab.

[Equipment]

1. Ancient sun dial x1(10P)

2. Rope 25 meters(2P)

3. Magical everlasting flashlight (30P)

4. Educational hunting knife (30P)

...

In equipment, it felt like an adventurer's treasure trove for equipment. There are items to create a barrier and repel certain animals and insects. An inspection gadget and a whole lot of other things that could prove useful.

Next on the list is...

[Artifacts]

1. Day and night glove set (300P)

2. Horus bow copy (800P)

3. Zeus lightning bolt copy (799P)

4. Primordial card deck (25000P)

...

These lists aren't in any order huh? This seems to be where prices are bound to make people spit blood. Another thing I should take note of is the bow the artifacts are 'copies' it means the real ones exist out there... Ew, I hope I never have to meet one of the Greek gods or other creepy ones I don't want anyone of any gender after me booty nonconsensually. This also means at some point there'll be some form of interaction with gods in my future ughhhh. I didn't feel too put off by the existence of these mythological existences. I should take into account that anything and anyone I've read or seen should exist somewhere.

I lifted my head back at the painful tedious journey ahead of me. There were too many possibilities of danger where a protagonist like myself with this type of system could get into danger.

Just remembered that I recently turned 18 but now I have this whole chosen one schtick that I'm stuck with.

'Whatever... let's move on.'

[Skills]

1. Fireball (20P)

2. Hellfire (100P)

3. Snow fire (50P)

4. fire! fire! (20P)

...

This time there seems to be a theme going down the list in regards to names of skills but the prices still fire. I even laughed at a few of these. It took me out of my depressed state for a little. Like what the fuck is snow fire? Haha...

When I questioned it a new tab opened

[Snow Fire]

It is a fire that has similar forming physical properties to snow. You can mold it into a fireman, or shape it into a fireball or ignitgloo. It is also a perfect negator to fire snow. (Warning! Physical contact with it will still burb you and the heat will reach up to the internal heat of a campfire!)

It would seem that there are helpful descriptions for these items as well, I sighed cause it would seem I need to do some in-depth online shopping for a couple of hours.

Around 5 hours later

.....

"Agh!!! This took too fucking long! There's too much stuff to take into account and I don't even know if I'll have to use half of this..."

I purchased a tonne of goods (not literally) and was satisfied with my collection of items. As I bought many things to prepare for various contingencies.

My most expensive purchases ended up using 190P on 2 items that made me cry subconsciously of happiness and the pinch of salt. All subconsciously because I activated [Tune out lv. 1] to focus entirely on this matter.

These two items that I found extremely important are: [Universal language translator] skill for 90 so that I can communicate with anyone. It doesn't teach me all the languages, it just translates as I speak, so I'll wear a face mask to conceal the irregular lip movement from other people. Then for 100P was an [Automatic Culture X Fashion disguise] equipment shaped like a raven coloured bracelet that will help me blend in with different cultures' appearances, and look fashionable for the intended price range I'm willing to disguise as.

There were a couple of other convenient items, which I could mention later. Apart from that for self-defense, I purchased a skill called [Broken reflect] for 50P, a weaker version of the day and night glove set artifact called [S&M light glove set] a name that definitely implies a certain innuendo. It costed another 50P and does the following...

[S&M light glove set]

*Cough!* The S and M start for sun and moonlight. The Sunlight glove will provide minimum protection from various, poisons, diseases, and harmful whispers of the undead. During the day it increases your strength around 1.5 times.

The moonlight glove relaxes people around you constantly and adds to your charm. At night the moonlight glove has a sleep effect where if you touch any creature with it for 5 minutes they fall asleep.

The effects of each glove can be switched by just a thought. The symbols will switch.

.....

These gloves were one of the few cheap things available in the store and proved to have very useful effects. The [Broken reflect] skill also proved to be a safe purchase.

[Broken reflect]

Just like your psyche, this skill is broken. It reflects any attacks coming your way however any attack further than 5 meters away will reflect anywhere in a 10-meter radius around you. When an attack is within a 5-meter range it can be reflected anywhere but not under your control. Cool down for 5 seconds per use.

.....

'Back at it again with the sass'

I thought she reading it. Though it could prove useful to deflect weapons and damage overall. So overall I spent 140P on skills, 50P on an artifact, and 150P on various types of equipment including the gadget. I spent 75 on a [All you need combo] that gave a balanced amount of nutrients and different food types. Each purchase cost me 3P and should suffice for a month this is from the [Miscellaneous items] tab. Leaving me with 85P.

In [Miscellaneous items] there were also different currencies available so I can purchase some when I seem to need them. Each with different exchange rates for some protagonist points.

Now I felt at least decently confident in my survival when I go to the other world. Not going to lie was inwardly a bit psyched to go to a different world from what I'm used to. Will there be humans? Is it another dimension, a different universe? No one was going to answer the questions even when I tried asking the higher existence. Thinking about I just realized that I've been addressing calling them as a higher existence when they could just be some overpowered technologically advanced alien... for now I'll leave throw these thoughts aside if I feel like they've done any further extensive damage to me... apart from my broken mind that came from experiencing two deaths. The second being much more heartbreaking than the last... would I try to find a way to get revenge. I highly doubt it'd be possible but... maybe there's a way?

Shaking my head in mockery of myself I think it's time that I look at where I am in the near future for now. I need to come back get stronger, enact any revenge I wish to, protect my family, and most importantly of all... survive.
