On the wedding day (3)

"Zaros…" she wanted to ask if he was real Zaros or did someone possessed him. But before she could speak further he approached her at a vampire speed clutching her neck as he pressed her back to the table making her back hurt in pain.

"Don't call me Zaros with your filthy mouth. Call me ' My Lord', bitch," he said as he called her profanity.

Adira's eyes widened at his words. He has no respect for her. She expected a loveless marriage already but not a marriage without respect. She wants to protest and say something but his grip only tightened around her making her choke.

She fearful nodded at him making him loosen his grip on her.

" Eww… I touched your disgusting neck. I need a bath," he said as he shook his hand as if he was trying to remove the dust.

At those words, more tears welled from her eyes. She was so less in his eyes that she couldn't be compared to a living being. She was equal to dirt or even more. She didn't like it. She wanted to scream and cry but she held it on. After all, they have to go on with the pact. Even if she protested now… her marriage was done. There was nothing to be changed.

"Shhh! Shut your disgusting tears! I hate you! And your tears are even more disgusting! Shut them! After all, you have to look like a beautiful bride tonight," he said as he traced her 'disgusted' face with his cold fingers making her shudder.

For some reason, she felt him scary. Not for some reason, but his current behavior and his posture made her feel chills. He was exuding a dark aura making her shudder at his touch. She flinched when he ran his fingers on her face but before she could move her head a bit back, he grabbed her chin between his fingers forcing her to look at him.

" Between, since I have married you. There is a way to make you slim and thin," he said with a mysterious smile that gave warning bells to Adira.

Adira knew whatever he was going to say was not a piece of good news for her. She wants to run from him and go to her brother to hide. She just wanted to have a peaceful married life even if it wasn't marriage with love, she expected it to be a marriage of respect. Just like her father's and Serene's.

Serene and her father never loved each other. They did what was important for each other and their race. Yeah… her father didn't take any responsibilities and disappeared by leaving the race and the responsibilities to his wife years ago. They searched for him on and on but they couldn't find him. So, they let it go after years of search.

They both had respect but not love. That's the reason her mother never had a mating mark on her neck. He never fulfilled the mating rituals with her. After all, she was his second wife.

To stay connected with the kingdom, a glass of her blood was mixed with a huge drum of blood. That blood was shared between the citizens as the high priestess connected everyone with Serene mind link.

This ritual was done by the king alone but Serene was forced to do it as she was not marked by her mate.

Everyone accepted that because it was their king's order they would never disobey their king.

Adira came out of her thoughts when he gripped her chin a little harshly. She turned left and tried to run away. But the doors were closed already by the maids and she can't run anywhere. She felt the corner of the room would be better for her to hide. She ran there and sat down as she brought her knees to her chest. Hugging them tightly she looked fearfully ahead wondering if he come to her. But to her dismay, he was walking towards her, like a Devil.

The closer he came, the more nervous she felt.

Oh, God saves me. She prayed internally looking for an excuse.

But her prayers were unheard by god. He came to her and kneeled on one knee as he grabbed her chin forcefully. His fingers were digging into her skin as they left fresh bruises on her fresh beautiful face.

"I am giving an advice, why are you running, Princess?" he asked with a confused face that only scared her further. To her… he was behaving like a psychopath.

"L-Le-Leav-e m-me," she whispered out.

"Nah… you sent my mother to me asking me to meet you. Maybe you want me to fuck you. That would happen when I am in the mood. As of now… I am in no mood. In Vampira, I have mistresses. So, you are pretty useless to me. Since I have been married to you. I will do the husband's duties.

" Before that… you shall stop eating. Oh yeah… since we have to share the dining table with others, you will be eating. So… for that… you will eat very less and will say some excuse till we leave this place. You got it, right?" he asked as he looked at her.

Like a scared rabbit, she shivered at his orders. She doesn't want to live like this if this was how her married life was going to me. Tears spilled out of her eyes as she looked at him. He was so ruthless and cold-hearted. He was behaving like no less than a monster.

" Shh…. don't cry. A princess wasn't supposed to cry. You will do as I say, right?" he asked again through his gritted teeth, for which Adira nodded her head fearfully at him.

He gave a satisfied smirk at her before pushing her away.
