Lady's Day (3)

Ch-26

"Sister-in-law~~" she called cutely.

"Fine, fine… he isn't a picky eater. But won't say no to yummy food. Likes blood which is heated and mixed with chocolate," Lenora said.

"Won't that be weird?" Adira asked with a frown.

"Indeed… but that's his taste. What can I do?" Lenora said.

"Sigh… he is so weird," Adira said thinking of Zaros.

"Indeed," Lenora agreed.

There was a comfortable silence between them for a while. No one made an attempt to talk with each other.

"I am kind of scared of him. He is so grumpy all the time," Adira said.

"Well… he is raised to be a king. So… he was taught to be suspicious of everything. Even when he was served food… he would do a poison check before eating. He is that suspicious. When you get closer to him… he will do and give everything he can to you to protect you," Lenora said.

"Oh," Adira said.

"It will take time to understand him… but he is a good man," Lenora added.

There was another wave of thick silence enveloped them.

"So why don't you fulfill our part of the deal?" Lenora asked turning her head. Adira smiled at her mischievously before starting.

"Even my brother isn't a picky eater. As long as the food was cooked by his loved ones, he would eat it. Even if it's burnt," Adira said.

"He works a lot," She added.

"Oh," Lenora nodded.

"He loves to run when he is stressed or happy," Adira added.

"And he likes to go into the sun even though he knew it makes us weak," Adira added.

"I see," Lenora nodded.

There was another wave of silence. When Adira felt she had enough silence, she wanted to ask something to her sister-in-law, but she saw Lenora was already sleeping. Shaking her head, even she decided to sleep. After all, even she had a tiring day. Adira couldn't sleep like Lenora. Many things happened between her and Zaros after the wedding. Even an argument took place between them.

She doesn't know how to explain it to Zaros, so she thought of taking Lenora's help but she was asleep. Looks like fate is mocking her. Turning her head, even she slept beside her sister-in-law.

Ch-56

Zaros was restless after the fight in their chambers. He can't say it's a fight but him raging like a bull while she was quivering like a little homeless pet. Zaros has unreasonably started the fight. Or so he thought. But nevertheless, it's his fault mostly. He wanted to apologize to her. But… she was dragged away by his mother-in-law in the name of a ritual from him.

He could still remember the situation that she flinched when he tried to get closer to him. That was the moment he realized he scared her too much. Looks like... he needs to do a lot of homework to get her back into his arms and lap. Only that way he could achieve his goal. And Adira was the only way to tame the Werewolf King. Even if he doesn't like to be with her, he has to make sure that she was with him. Adira is his responsibility after the marriage. One way or other he has to full fill his duties.

He sent his men to see where his wife was. He only got information that she was with a group and celebrating Lady's day. He, Zaros felt anger rising in his veins when he heard their words. How could she celebrate this and that function!? While he was seething in rage and drowning in guilt, she is enjoying it!

How could she!?

He walked towards the said chambers and saw all the women from the werewolf and Vampire races were together as they chatted happily and laughed heartily. He was surprised at the single change. Looks like… he needs to leave now.

He didn't like the environment among the females. When he tried to do something this bond may backfire on him. He has to ruin it. But not now. He needs a chance. Werewolves would be their enemies till Vampires existed in this world.

After Victoria's death... they couldn't win the constant battles that took place between the werewolves and vampires. If not for their race declination he wouldn't even step into these wolf's places! But to his bad luck... he has to marry a woman from this race. He felt his chest tighten with anger.

"Came here for Adira?" a familiar voice asked.

"No, Queen Mother," he replied as he turned around to face his mother.

Zaros has to say that his mother was changing a lot as she stayed here. Her cold demeanor was melting as the warm demeanor grew back. He hated to admit but he has to say... he liked his mother more than ever now. She was gentle, warm, caring, and loving. For the first time... he felt like he saw his mother from his childhood. Also... Eudora started smiling a lot. Which was a surprise to him.

"Then you shouldn't be here. This is a place for ladies. Feel free to enter if you are a lady," Eudora teased him rising her brow. When he said she was changing, this was also a part. She even started teasing!

"I will take my leave," Zaros said feeling annoyed. He was here for Adira surely... but now he regretted being here for her. She can enjoy all wants, he wouldn't give a damn.

"Adira is sleeping...," Eudora trailed her words. And that's it his anger rose. she enjoyed her heart's content and now she's sleeping. If that's the case then he shall start leaving this place if not he may disrupt her enjoyment! A nerve ticked on his forehead in annoyance.

"I will leave then," he said through his gritted teeth.

"....She won't wake up till tomorrow sunset," Eudora finished her earlier sentence, stupifying her son.

Zaros never felt this annoyed by his mother.

"Why won't she wake up?" Zaros asked annoyed.

"According to rituals, Serene, your mother-in-law fed her a juice that makes her sleep for a day," Eudora said.
