Lenora's dream (2)

Ch-28

Many more questions swirled in her mind. She couldn't remember the whole dream only a few segments. Maybe it's not just a dream but the events that were buried in her head were coming out in the form of the dream.

As she moved she felt pain all over her body, just like how painful for her in her dream. She thought her body was painful in the dream but it was real.

She could feel the same pain crawling all over her body every time she had this particular. What's wrong with her brain and mind?

With a sigh… she turned her head to the side and drank some water. After drinking water she felt a lot better. She again fell into her sleep. She didn't even notice the presence of Maximus and Zaros.

Normally, she couldn't sleep no matter what after she got this dream but today she can. Was it the side effects of this juice?

Maybe.

She only wished for no more nightmares as she closed her drooping eyelids. In a matter of seconds, she fell asleep.

Maximus and Zaros stood rooted in their spots as they watched Lenora's struggle.

So… this was what she was going through every day. Zaros felt ashamed of himself. He wished he investigated what happened on that day instead of blindly trusting others over her. Looks like he messed up.

"I am just wondering, what is happening with my sister? In the past month, she hasn't laughed as she used to. Now I know. If your sister is going through this much… how could you care about my sister?

"You can leave my sister here. I will not cancel the pact. After all, my sister isn't as old as your sister to have a strong will like her. If my wife was in that state… my sister would be in a worse state," Maximus said as he picked his sister in his arms. He sprinted towards her chambers and carefully tucked in her blanket. He called a maid and asked her to take care of her and even ordered not to allow anyone.

Then… again… he went back to the same chambers to pick up his wife. Zaros didn't even move from the place where he stood. Looks like this man went numb hearing his words. But he wouldn't send his sister to a devil's den knowing there would be suffering. Zaros has to agree with Maximus. But he needs his sister. There was no way he would let her go. With that in mind he walked away.

He picked up his wife and went back to his chambers. He tucked her under the blanket and was about to walk out.

"Hot…" she mumbled in her sleep and he heard.

Next Night...

Ch-62

Lenora sat beside Maximus hurriedly when she saw the seat beside him was going to be taken away by her mother-in-law like usual. She wanted that seat for herself, so she rushed ahead and snatched it from her mother-in-law. Serene raised her brows at her daughter-in-law's actions. Lenora just gave a sheepish smile to her mother-in-law. Serene just smiled at her smugly as she looked at her shy daughter-in-law and her shameless son.

"Ahhh… this is good then," Serene said with a giggle that made Lenora feel shy further.

Maximus looked at his new bride who turned so shy after doing such a silly thing. He smiled mischievously at her. He felt satisfied oddly at her behavior. It means she liked to be with him and share space with him. After the morning incident, he thought she would act shy and would become distant from him. That thought itself made him feel sad. That was also the reason why he had left her alone in the bathroom as he gave her a 'me-time'. And gladly she didn't shy away now. She was as comfortable as they were in the morning. He passed a smug smile to her mother.

"Looks like my position is being snatched?" Serene commented again with a smile. She wasn't offended at all. Not even cent percent. Instead, she was happy.

"No, Mom! I am trying to snatch his position!" Lenora said with a big grin. She was like a child. She was so changed in a single night. Serene looked at her son in surprise as if asking what's the reason for her sudden change. Maximus just winked at her not before blowing a flying kiss.

"If that's the case, then you are successful," Serene announced making her giggle. Her giggle felt like a piece of mellow music to the ears of the people who were present in the room. People enjoyed her pure laugh combined with her innocence.

Celine had happy tears in her eyes when she watched Lenora laugh like this. Celine realized that this marriage was a blessing in disguise for her. She has to inform them that their child was happy with this thing.

Even Eudora and Zaros looked surprised at her actions. They thought Lenora would sit beside Eudora but she chose to sit beside her husband. And the most important thing was… she threw an I don't care expression on both of their faces but was fighting with her mother-in-law for her seat beside her husband.

As they looked at her genuine and childlike laughter and giggles, they realized this was her from two years ago with them but now she wasn't the same.

Zaros held his chest in pain as he looked at her little sister. He was the middle child after. After his elder sister passed away he didn't give a damn to this one and constantly broke her heart. Not only that he almost banished her from their kingdom for the thing she didn't even do. Now she was in the arms of someone else seeking his comfort being all lovey and Dovey in front of him as she drifted away from him farther and farther away.

He was thankful for Maximus's presence in her life. A smile formed on his face as he looked at them with contentment.

He was at least happy that she got a good spouse.

His sister deserved happiness. While he forgot that he was tormenting someone else's sister with grief and pain. He forgot that there was karma that always proves what goes around comes around.
