Zaros Woke up

Elphaba continued to chant more spells intently. As the black energy came out of his body, the life crystal which entered Zaros's body started doing its work. His cold heart started warming up and even beating now.

The dark energy that came out of his heart is flying in the air over his heart like a ball. As Elphaba continued to chant spells, she noticed his dark energy flying.

She didn't understand why it was flying like that instead of getting destroyed. She decided to think about it later instead of thinking about it now. The dark energy turned into a crystal before falling over his body. While his body was brightened with the traces of life.

When the process was done, she took the crystal and tucked it into her gown. Making sure this man will be awake, she sat aside. With the tribulations that happened to his body, it's hard to say about his intact memory. His inner organs were fine. None are damaged.

As for his brain and its functionalities, it's hard to say. Elphaba waited for ten minutes before calling his family. She waited to check if the crystal was working fine with his body or not. When she made sure it was fine for now, she called others.

Adira entered the chambers first. Looking at Elphaba, who was sitting on the chair and eating the fruits that were meant for her and her husband leisurely, she felt that this woman was so sexy that can sweep men to her feet. She looked so leisurely and unlady-like, she wished to be like her. Such a shame, that she became a princess. Sigh.

Drowned in her self-thoughts and her la-la dream, she didn't notice when Elphaba came to her front. She didn't notice that Zaros stirred in his sleep and pretended to act dead to know what was happening to his wife.

"Queen Adira Velorine," Elphaba waved her hand in front of her face.

"High Priestess," Adira greeted.

"Looks like you are lost in your thoughts," Elphaba remarked.

"I apologize," Adira replied sincerely. Elphaba just smiled at her.

"How is my husband?" she asked.

"He is fine internally and externally. There might be a chance for him to forget a few of his memories. I can't say anything about his condition or if he lost his memories how many memories he would lose. Get him to me after one moon rise and moon set after he is awake," Elphaba said.

Adira just nodded. She doesn't want to ask any more questions.

"I will send a few servants to follow you back to the tower," Adira said calmly.

"No need. I can handle it by myself," Elphaba said. Adira nodded and said nothing.

"If you do nothing about your relationship, your brother's marriage would be estranged. The more time passed, the farther they move away. The worst can be them departing from each other. He lost his first wife once. Don't be the reason for him to lose his love and life all over once again.

"And your sister-in-law, she faced many things and got what she deserved for once in her life. Because of you and your husband, she would lose it again. Think carefully and take a step toward your relationship," Elphaba said.

Zaros's felt ashamed of his acts. In fact, he didn't know why he behaved like that. It felt like a voice or something in his head asked him to do it. When he didn't, something took control of him and made him do it.

He can't blame on his some weird thing that possessed him. All he can do was, admit that he has been careless.

"Queen Adira Velorine, he acted under the effect of the ring to you all the while. He might not love you but would respect you at least from now," Elphaba said.

"I am not even a queen to my husband. Let's not talk about me being a real queen. As for the ring… indeed he is a victim. I agree. But before becoming a victim, he let others fool him. It is not my fault if he got fooled by others. If he has been careful, I wouldn't have suffered. As for respect… it's the least he could do," Adira said with a painful smile.

"You will be his wife whether you accept it or not, or at least in the eyes of the others. As his wife, I will tell you something which you shouldn't tell anyone. If you tell it to someone else, it might cause his death," Elphaba said.

Adira nodded. Elphaba took Adira's hand and dragged him towards Zaros. Taking her hand, she placed Adira's hand on his chest.

"What are you doing, High Priestess?" Adira asked.

Just then realization hit her.

"He has a heartbeat!" Adira almost exclaimed aloud.

"Yes, That's the only way for me to save him," Elphaba said.

"Keep it secret. Don't let others find it," Elphaba added.

"I don't need to do that personally, High Priestess. Everyone here has high senses. They will find it out by hearing his heartbeat," Adira said feeling confused.

"I will give you a ring. He shall wear it all the time. It will conceal his heartbeats and will maintain his previous vampire complexion," Elphaba said.

"I wonder if he would wear it," Adira said.

"That's your job. Don't you want the pact to go normally?" Elphaba questioned.

Left with no choice she accepted the ring trying to find out a way to make him wear it. Elphaba left the chambers after she was done with her job.

Meanwhile, Adira was still mulling over her thoughts. She wished him to get up from his slumber.

Zaros heard every word said by the Great Witch and his wife. He felt sad at times but he deserved it. She was right in many things. Even now... it's his fault to wear the rings given by the servants just because he was informed that it was sent by his mother. He should have checked it well before wearing it. He knew he made her suffer because of it.

Suddenly, he realized the Witch said that he might lose his memories. Maybe he shall act dumb. That way… he can win her over again. Then he can slowly reveal things to her.
