Ch-95
"I will kill him!" Zaros roared frightening Adira, who was standing beside him. Adira quickly composed herself and hugged his arms.
Feeling the soft touch on him, Zaros looked at the young wife in front of him. Even though she was scared of him, she was trying to be there for him and calm him down.
What a thoughtful wife he has!
He hugged her tightly, wanting to drown himself in her scent. Zaros knew he was in a rage. If it were his previous self, he would have just gone ahead mindlessly and tried to kill the person who made all the mess.
His wife was his stress buster and someone who kept him sane. "The woman whom I dealt with in the courtroom, was one of the vampires. She tried to get onto the bed with the biggest restaurant chain owner in the capital," Lenora said after seeing Zaros hugging Adira as if his life depended on him.
"What do you mean?" Eudora asked.
"Vampires have been coming here for unknown reasons even before this pact was made. I don't know what they were planning for this kingdom. But I can say that this was something we need to be aware of," Lenora said. Zaros broke the hug and looked into Lenora's eyes.
"Something big is going to happen," Zaros said with a frown on his face.
"That involves both races," Maximus said.
"I still wonder how he turned into a lich," Adira said all of a sudden.
"He used black magic and cheated death. As punishment for that, he lost his human body and lived as a skeleton," Eudora said to her innocent daughter-in-law.
"I know that, Mother. But was he that powerful when he died? Or was there someone who helped him at that time? Turning into a lich needs the darkest magic that exists." Adira said it with a confused expression on her face.
She was right.
Many have so many doubts and questions about the same thing. But they never thought deeply about this.
"If two races were involved in this, then it only means there was someone behind him with a far more greedy version. Victoria's sister-in-law's skin was left. It's as if… he wanted to give that skin to someone to wear in a different way but the experiment failed." Adira said.
Zaros looked at his wife, who was analyzing everything. Even both mothers turned silent. He could see the silent chaos of their raging emotions under their facade.
Even Lenora was gritting her teeth and clenching her fist. Even she was affected as someone who directly witnessed the scene. Maximus was busy calming her, while Adira was thinking straight.
"Even I have many questions," Zaros said.
"I think I have a guess," Adira said.
Eudora turned her head towards her with a complicated expression flickering in her eyes.
She looked at Serene and exchanged something through their eyes.
"What is it?" Zaros asked.
"Maybe… maybe…" Adira hesitated as she looked at him. She knew it was a risky move. But she has to do it.
"Maybe?" Zaros asked, urging her to speak.
"I read somewhere. Both Werewolves and Vampires came from the same ancestor. The royals of both Werewolves and Vampires have the blood of that ancestor." Adira paused as she looked at everyone. Even she doesn't want to say it out. But at this point, she has to.
"What if… he is trying to wake up the ancestor?" Adira spits it out nervously.
Everyone's heads whipped towards her in realization. They all knew the Lich king became the current Lich king and held that much power, all thanks to the consciousness of the sleeping ancestor.
One day, the divine ball in the ancestral shrine shone so brightly, indicating that the Lich King was the guide of the vampire race. With that, Azazel Laroch got the reins of the vampire race.
When Eudora took the reins of the throne, she made sure her position was firm, and even Azazel Laroch couldn't shake it. This has been a thorn for Azazel but Eudora never cared.
It has been more than a thousand years since she sat on the throne. It's time for Zaros to ascend the throne. No wonder he was trying to haul all the power for himself.
Eudora's eyes flickered with realization. She shared a look with Lenora. Lenora has the same realization. The blood, the skin, the rituals—everything starts to make sense.
It means if Zaros were to become king in the coming few days, then it was time for another attack. They have to be careful.
"Then the coronation is going to be interesting," Lenora said with a cold face.
"We need to do something about it," Adira said.
"Don't worry, dear sister-in-law. I have a way," Lenora said with a smile on her face.
They all stayed in the study for nearly two hours before they left to pack their stuff.
After two days,
The Vampire race and almost half of the Werewolf Kingdom set out on their journey to the Vampire Kingdom. Few wanted to see off their beloved princess, and few of them wanted to see the splendor and hype of the Vampire Kingdom.
Everyone heard a lot of things about the Vampire race but never saw it. Now, the tales will flow in the air with the unification of both races.
As they set out on the journey, not many knew that a silent massacre had taken place in the Werewolf kingdom. Those who were left behind became deaf to oblivion, while those who knew became one with the soil.
The unification between the two races brought happiness to some, while it brought tears to others.
What happens now? Will a battle of eternity take place or a silent massacre happen?
Who will survive? Who will not?
Will these four people who have put their lives for peace and safety go to waste?
Will they be able to stop the calamity that is going to happen?
Only time can tell.
