Adira's Move

Ch-97

After fifteen days…

The convoy of the vampire race and the werewolf race reached the Vampire Kingdom. The eunuchs announced the presence of Zaros and Adira.

Citizens were excited to see the arrival of the new queen. While not all are excited, some hate the werewolf race. Before leaving, Eudora did a great job convincing the citizens about the alliance, but by the time they returned, she could see almost half of the kingdom was against them.

Adira gracefully got out of her sedan carriage. She looked meek yet confident. She looked young yet graceful. A smile was plastered on her face as she looked at the gathered crowd, expressing her happiness.

Inside, she was dying of nervousness. If not for Zaros's presence she would have died from a heart attack.

"Breathe, Dear Wife. No need to be nervous," he said with a smile.

She just clasped her hands around him and smiled at him. Her palms turned sweaty due to nervousness. It was Zaros's first time living with a living person. Her every action was an amusement to her. Even now, her usually normally hot hands are even hotter because of her sweat. He could hear her heartbeats even among the loud cheers of his kingdom.

The cheers didn't faze him. Their clatter didn't disturb him. It was his wife and her emotions that caused turmoil in his heart. He watched her taking shelter in his arms, and he let her. He let her hand her heart to him, he took it. He let her own her, he owned her. In return, he gave his heart, his soul and himself to be owned by her.

Maybe this is what they call love.

Their marriage started with an alliance. A pact between two kingdoms, and two races. It is to save the lives of millions in the future. But now, he hoped to continue this marriage with the alliance of their two hearts. He wants to create a life with her. Will it be possible?

All of a sudden, the crowd around them disappeared in the eyes of Zaros. To him, only his wife was alive. How could he let the chance of seeing her go just like that? Once he stepped in, the preparations for the coronation, the first night, and everything would begin. He will not get a proper chance to see her.

Under the silvery moonlight, her rosy skin glowed ethereally as she looked like the mortal version of the divine moon goddess herself.

As they walked, his heart raced.

My Beloved, May I ask your heart beats till the earth's embrace?

My Beloved, May I create lives with you?

My Beloved, May I wish for our eternal love?

My Beloved, Will you let me?

I want to pluck those stars for you,

I want to have you in my eyes, arms, and dreams

I want to live for you alone.

I want to be the only one for you.

Dear Love, Let's celebrate our love every day

Let's celebrate our laughs.

Let's just live the way our hearts want

Let's just let our love be aflame till the world ends.

Zaros's mind was distracted by the thoughts of Adira. He felt like he was a jerk and he didn't deserve her. But he can become that deserved one too. Before the first night, he has something planned for her. A smile formed on his face, as he looked at her. Her eyes turned into beautiful crescents. A trace of gentleness oozing with love from his eyes. He's a vampire who is feared and respected. Emotions were foreign to him. But the lady beside him made him experience all the foreign things.

Just then he felt a whizz from his side. Before he could react a vampire was already standing in front of Adira, about to sink his teeth into her neck at lightning speed.

Before Zaros could respond, Adira had already plucked him off of her and ripped off his hand from his body.

Before he could jump on her again, she pinned him down by placing her foot on him. Her brown eyes turned golden-yellow as her iris turned red, showing her anger toward the world. Her sharp fangs were on display, making every vampire around her take a step back. Her finger long nails were forced out of her fingers as she stared at the man with anger and pure vengeance.

The Vampire under her was still struggling and trying to attack her but Adira knew better than anyone that he would definitely kill her.

She stabbed him with her Werewelf nails, injecting him with Werewolf venom into his body. Nobody will notice the traces of poison right away. He will die in half an hour.

"Guards!!" she yelled.

Soon, a swarm of guards surrounded her.

"My Queen," they bowed.

"Take this rebel away. Lock him up in dungeons," Adira said.

Lenora smiled at seeing her sister-in-law in action. "What do you think about my sister-in-law, love?" Lenora asked her husband with amusement.

"You tell me, what do you think about my sister?" he asked with excitement.

"I just have to deal with the mess. Sigh," she said.

"Let your brother handle it. If he can't stand up for his wife, we can take her away," Maximus said.

"Indeed," she said.

Before leaving the Werewolf Palace, she was worried that Adira wouldn't be able to survive the chaos of vampire politics. But it looks like her sister-in-law was someone who acted like a cat but was actually a tiger. There was a good show to look forward to.

But what confused her was… if she was like this, why did she let Zaros abuse her?

She doesn't know the answer to this. She watched as the guards dragged the rebel out of the way. Lenora could say her sister-in-law injected him with Werewolf Poison. What a cruel woman! Well, she wants to applaud her for that.

She can kill him in a swift moment. But that would be too easy for him.

Lenora watched as Adira retracted her fierce persona and looked at Zaros with a gentle and loving expression on her face. No wonder Adira endured it all. She loved him and wanted a marriage. That was why she endured it all.

Her earlier question was answered.
