The Beginning

14 yrs later (NOW)

No One's POV

Saomi was driving home one day from school when started getting dizzy, luckily she was in a bit if traffic so she had a little time to recollect herself. She  instantly took out her meds that her mom ( Frentice) told her to take whenever she had a wave of dizziness come over her. After gulping down a bottle of water along with her meds, it took about 30 seconds for her to feel sane again.

She sometimes wondered why this always happened to her. She always insists to her mom to take her to the doctor so she could get checked, but she told her that she doesn't need to go to a doctor because the meds are working.

What a lame excuse!, she thought.

Though she was right, the meds are working so she left it. Now that Saomi begins to look back at her life, she realizes she has never went to the doctor before in her life. Whenever anything happened to her that caused her body to be physically or internally I'll, her mother always called her friend Hemric to come check up on her and release her of her ailments.

He was also the one who gave her the meds for her to take whenever she felt dizzy. She never found it weird or kind of suspicious till now in her thoughts.

Suddenly she was drawn out of her racing thoughts by the ringing of her phone. It was her boyfriend Shane. He was video calling her.

Saomi: I hate video calls, she thought.

She quickly put her phone on the phone stand in her car and hesitantly answered the call.

Shane: Hey babe, I know you hate video calls but I couldn't help seeing your pretty face, he said smirking.

Saomi: I'm definitely going to exorcise you for that later, she said blushing and looking anywhere else but at her phone.

Shane: Anyways, babe, are you okay? you look a bit pale, he said to her diverting from what he was about to say before.

Saomi: I'm fine, I just had one of those episode thingys, she said nervously.

Shane: You really need to get that checked by a REAL DOCTOR, he said expressing the words " real doctor".

Saomi: Shane, I already told, you it's fine and my meds are working so there's no need for that, she said getting a bit annoyed, but managed to speak reassuringly.

Shane: Whatever you say babe, he replied.

Saomi: So...you ready for our date to the cinema tonight?, she asked looking pretty excited, then quickly moved on to say something else.

Saomi: Remember we're watching Jurassic World, the one that came out this year, 2022, she said like she was talking to someone who doesn't have much sense.

Shane: Yeah, I get it and yes, I'm ready, I'll pick you up at 8:00pm tonight from your house and we'll head there, he said smirking.

Saomi: Ok, I love you, she said blushing while focusing on the road.

Shane: I love you too, I'll see you later, he said still smirking.

The call ended.

Saomi's POV

After I got home, I went to my mom's room and saw her sleeping, I wanted to tell her i was running out of meds but I thought why not let her rest. I hurriedly went to my room to find an outfit for my date tonight with Shane. While I was going through my closet, I saw a scarlet red leather jacket and I took it down and placed it on my bed. Then I continued to reminisce through my closet to find the remaining parts of my outfit. The under top and a bottom.

Saomi: Finally!!!, I said to myself, while exhaling a sigh of relief.

I had found the perfect under top and bottom that completes my outfit for tonight's date. It was a big oversized grey blouse with my scarlet red leather jacket and my black sweatpants with six pockets and a chain hanging on the side making a U shape.

I know the K-pop/tomboy look rocks on me, I thought.

It's my style, my jam, girly stuff ain't my swag.

When I finished looking for my clothing, I decided to hit the shower.

~ le time skip till after the shower and after getting dressed ~

It's not 6:30pm. I have a bit of time left till Shane gets here, I thought to myself.

I'm gonna tell mom that I'm running out of meds, she should be awake by now, I thought to myself.

I went to my mom's room, knocked on the door, then entered when I got the go ahead.

Saomi: Hey mom!, I said.

Saomi's Mom/ Frentice: Hey Hun, what's up?, look all dressed today, going somewhere?, she said smirking.

Saomi: Oh come on mom!!!, would you cut out the smirking act?, Shane smirks enough as it is, and yes, I am going somewhere, I said trying to sound annoyed.

Saomi's Mom: Nope is it a date with Shane?, she said smiling like a child.

Saomi: Yes mom, I said rolling my eyes.

Saomi: Anyways, I came to tell you that I probably won't be back until ten tonight and I'm running out of meds, so tell Hemric to pull up with the goods, k?, I said completely serious.

Saomi's Mom: Ok Hun, I'll tell Hemric to come tonight and I'll make him check up on you, if don't mind, she said with a questioning look on her face.

I waited for a few seconds before I answered.

Saomi: Fine, whatever, I said while turning around.

Saomi's Mom: Hey, remember what I always say you should do before going anywhere?, she said with a look( you know the look)

Saomi: Yeah, I remember, she said quickly moving on to say something else.

Take your meds everywhere you go!!!!, we both said in unison.

Saomi: Bye Mom, I love you, I said while walking through the door.

Saomi's Mom: Bye my dear, I love you too and see you later, she said happily.

And I swiftly exited the room.

It's now 7:00pm. What to do?, What to do?, I thought.

An idea popped up in my mind that I should watch Stranger things Season 3! episode five since I have an our to spare. I quickly grabbed the remote from the small table where the TV was, sit down on my couch, turn the TV on, immediately enter the Netflix panel, clicked my profile, checked my watch history and continued to watch my fifth favourite sci-fi series there is.

~ le time skip till after the episode was finished ~

It's 7:50pm right now, I'm gonna grab my stuff and wait at the door for Shane to come pick me up.

~ le time skip to 8:00pm~

Saomi: Well it's 8:00pm, I said to myself.

Saomi: He has to be here anytime soo-

I was cut off by the door bell, I already had all my stuff on me so all I had uto do was open the door and carry on with my night. When I opened the door, Shane was standing there, I gave him a quick peck on the lips.

Shane: You look gorgeous babe, ready to go?, He said smirking.

Saomi: Yeah and thanks, I said to him rolling my eyes and smiling obliviously.

~ le time skip to the cinema ~

As soon as we got to the cinema, I began to chant...

Saomi: Jurassic world, Jurassic world, Jurassic wor- , I said being cut of by Shane giving me a kiss.

Shane: I know, he said calmly with a smile.

Saomi: I-Im just e-excited, s-sorry, I said nervously blushing and being a stuttering mess.

Shane: You know, when you stutter, ( he starts to turn around and makes eye contact with her) you look really adorable, he said smirking.

Saomi:W-whatever, I said blushing like crazy and still a stuttering mess.

Shane: Cute, he thought.

Saomi: Let's go, I said changing topic.

Shane: I wouldn't want to be late to my girlfriend's movie, now would I, he asked smirking.

I rolled my eyes.

~ le time skip to the break time of the movie~

We were heading out of the movie area to go to the food area, when I felt a wave of dizziness hit me. I quickly told Shane that I would be going to the restroom and I would meet him back in movie area soon.

When I got to the restroom, I was rustling through my bag for my meds, only to see the bottle empty.

Saomi: I'm pretty sure I had 2 left, I thought to myself.

Saomi: Holy crap, what am I gonna do?, I feel like I'm dying, I said out loud.

Saomi: I'mma call mom, I said to myself.

Saomi: Hey Mom, I said.

Saomi's Mom: Hey Hun, you okay?,you don't sound so we'll, she said sounding worried.

Saomi: I hate to break to you mom but- ( I paused) I'm out of meds and it's happening again, I said curling up on the floor in pain.

Saomi's Mom: Holy Christ, Okay, Um...Just stay where you are, Do not move, Where are right now?, Is Shane with you?, she asked reassuringly.

Saomi: Okay, I'm at the cinema, No, Shane isn't with me right now, cuz I'm in the rest room, I said struggling to breathe and gain focus.

Saomi's Mom: As I said stay where you are at, I'll be there in ten minutes, she said as if she was running.

Saomi: Ok Mom, I said still struggling to breathe.

End of Call

Though I was feeling hella dizzy, I wanted to get up so I could wash my face over the sink and what I saw made me scream a blood curling scream. My eyes were glowing purple and stuff were floating in the air behind me from the reflection of the mirror, worse part was, so was I.

I began to reassure myself by telling myself I was hallucinating because of the dizziness.

A while later, the bathroom door busted open, I saw my mom and Hemric run in and everything went black.

Last thing I remember, I fell on the ground hard in pain and I felt two pairs of strong arms lifting me up, then I was fully out of it.

~ le time skip to back as Saomi's house~

I was awake, yes, but I couldn't open my eyes or even move my body at all. I was numb. I then began to listen to the conversation I figured my mom and  Hemric we're having.

They were talking about something like  powers. I decided to listen more.

~Saomi's Mom and Hemric's conversation ~

Saomi's Mom: Hemric, are you even listening to me?, I head my mom ask Hemric

Saomi's Mom: You need to make the meds more effective, she's getting older now and as puberty frowns with her, so does her powers, the pills aren't as powerful as they used to be, you need to make them stronger again just like you did when she was 10 ( ten), and we need them A.S.A.P., she said obviously aggravated by the current situation.

Hemric: You don't get it, if I make the meds anymore stronger than they already are, it might take a toll on her, her health might be in danger, he said trying to figure out a solution to fix the problem.

Saomi's Mom: Well, let's take the risk, we need to drown down her powers by all means necessary, my mom said while panicking.

Hemric: Frentice, why don't we just tell her, tell her the truth, huh, she deserves to know anyway, he said as if he had just come up with on of the best ideas in the world.

Saomi's Mom: Hemric, what type of bipolar drugs are you on?, cuz lately it seems as though your going mad up here, my mom said as if she was pointing at her hand at her or Hemric's head.

Hemric: it's just an idea, the best idea to solve this problem, instead of taking some damn risk that could damage Saomi's health, do you even hear your self?, he asked probably looking at my mom like she was a maniac.

Saomi's Mom: Hemric telling her is even worse, she'll hate us.( you got that damn right) We aren't telling her anything of this sort, the plan was to tell her about it when she is 18. Stop behaving like we know what Mr.Black's thinking and what he's planning. We can't risk Jim finding out that we have her. We could die, All of use could killed, She's too young to process the information, so don't ever think about telling her, you hear me?, she asked whispering aggressively.

Hemric: Fine, whatever you say, he said behaving like he was convinced by what my mom was saying to him.

Saomi's Mom:We ran away from India, to live in L.A. just for her to have a normal life, for 16 years, 16 years!!!!( she repeated )and you aren't going to ruin that plan, agreed, she said persuasively aggressive.

Hemric: Ok, but you better have a plan about how we are going to lower the increase of her powers seeing tye light of day, IN A WAY SHE WONT FIND SUSPICIOUS, he said to mom like he was talking to a stupid person.

Saomi's Mom: Just make a serum that she can inject herself with daily, and send me a hundred bottles by time your done with them, she said as if she was talking classified business ( in which she was)

Hemric: That's not so much of a bad idea, I'll conjure up more than that just incase, he said looking seeming to look pleased at what he was hearing.

The only thought that ran through my head was...

Saomi: The nerve of some people, I thought obviously annoyed.

Then I lost consciousness yet again

~ le time skip to the morning ~

In the morning I woke up with a head pounding headache. When I opened my eyes, I recognized I was in my bed. I began to look around my room and I saw my mom coming through the door with a tray in her hand that had a cup of water and my meds on it. She took it over to me and said.

Saomi's Mom: Good morning Hun, it's good to know you're awake, How are you feeling?, she said with a smile on her face.

Saomi: Fraud, I thought before I began to smile and then say...

Saomi: Good morning mom, I'm having a headache, but I'll get better soon, right, cuz you know exactly what's best for me, I asked still smiling, hiding my sarcastic behavior.

Saomi's Mom: Of course you'll get better Hun, do you remember anything from last night?, she asked still smiling.

Saomi: Mm...no, what happened, I lied with a confused face.

Saomi's Mom: Oh, nothing too bad, I would want to bore you with the details, she said with a big smile on her face, which was twitching every once and then.

Saomi's Mom: So how's Shane, have you decided to call him cuz we didn't quite tell him you were leaving the cinema last night, she said changing the topic, with a concerned look on her face.

Saomi: Crap, Shane, I totally forgot that I needed to call him, I said looking like a panicking mess.

Saomi's Mom: Ok, I'll give you some privacy just incase you want to call him, she said while getting up to leave the room.

I instantly began to call Shane to tell him that I was okay and safe.

~Shane's and Saomi's Conversation~

Saomi: Good morning Babe, I called as soon as I woke up to tell you that I'm safe and okay, I said as soon as he answered the phone.

Shane: Hey Babe, Good morning, that's goof to know, he said letting out a sigh of relief.

Saomi: So you aren't mad at me?, I ditched our date last night, I said uncertain of what he was saying.

Shane: Well, yes, I am mad, but not at you though, by the way you didn't exactly ditch me, what happened to you was out of your control, he said.

Saomi: Oh, so do you know what happened to me last night?, thinking he would know what happened to me last night?

Shane: To be completely honest with you Omi, I don't know what happened to you, but all I know is that I was at the food area, I didn't see when you mom and you're so called "personal doctor" came in the cinema, but they did, when I got the food and was walking back to the movie area, I saw you being carried by Hemric bridal style and your mom followed behind him. You were unconscious in his arms, they were in a hell of a hurry to where?, I don't know, I dropped the food on the floor and quickly ran over to them, because I wanted to see if you were okay, but your said that it wasn't the best time to see you. They then exited the cinema with stares of many people on them, got into a car and drove off. After a while I did the same. I was worried about you. I couldn't even sleep last night. It's such a relief to know that you're okay, he said trying to hold back how terrified he was by the incident that happened last night.

Saomi: Oh...

Is all I could say to what he just said.

Shane: Saomi, what really happened to you last night?, he asked curiously.

Saomi: I just ran out of meds and you could say it affected me really badly, I said nervously.

Shane: Saomi, you really scared me, just try to have enough of that stuff on you next time, ok?, he asked.

Saomi: Sure thing, it won't happen again, I said reassuringly.

Shane: Ok, well babe, I'll see you later, I have to take my little brother to the park.

Saomi: Oh, how long are you gonna be there?, Is it okay if I met you there?, You know I love Samír, she said excitedly.

Shane: Well, someone's excited to see my brother and not me, he said pouting.

Saomi: And you too, I said and I could literally feel him smirking.

Shane: If it were any other normal day , I would let you, but for you're own well being, I want you to stay at home and rest. Samír can see you another time.

Saomi: But-, I interjected but was then cut off by Shane saying...

Shane: No buts babe, you need to rest, okay?, I promise I'll come pick you up for school tomorrow, since today is a no-school day, it's so weird how you fall I'll on a no-school day, he said quite fascinated my tye idea.

Saomi: Ok, I said feeling quite sad.

Shane: Cheer up Omi, I have to be going now, I'll see you when I see you my adorable baby, he said obviously smirking.

Saomi: Whatever, I said blushing.

Shane: Now there's my favorite girlfriend ever, he said.

Shane: Bye, he said.

Saomi: Bye

~End of conversation and call~

Saomi: Sometimes I wonder why I even like this dude, I thought.

Then I remembered and all I said out loud was...

Saomi: Oh, right.

Lately I've been finding mom suspicious of somethings. Hemric too. They've been giving off a vibe which I never really noticed until now. Especially with what happened and what I heard them say last night. But I'm not entirely sure, I could of been imagining all that stuff last night because of the dizziness and it probable after effects. I need more clues before I could start finding anything about them and what happened to me officially suspicious. For now, All I have to do is continue taking my meds and try to at normal, so that they don't find me suspicious. Though everything felt so real...it felt so surreal at the same time. It like saying I have powers an the Sun's a planet which is completely impossible, until I find logical proof that it's not. Anyway I'mma forget about this for now, get some rest then go downstairs to get something to eat and even better binge watch Stranger Things, I thought in amusement.
