With a jolt, I woke up from the bed as the first thing I did was observe my room.
And as I expected, the room was the one I'd never entered before meaning what happened the moment before I passed out wasn't a dream.
For certainty, there was another proof.
A pair of eyes.
A perilous pair of pupils, currently, staring at me as if I was some kind of prey.
Seeing that it was Riko's father, I couldn't help but swallow hard.
"W-what are you doing here?" I asked after arranging my thoughts.
"Is it strange for me to be in my own room?" Instead of replying, he asked me in a detached voice.
"Y-yeah, right. Couldn't make more sense." I tried to make it more casual but my weak smile gave off.
Why is he giving me these vibes that he wants to kill someone?
Of course, that someone is me.
"You look disappointed. Did you really believe that I will let you sleep in my daughter's room?" He narrowed his eyes before saying with a groan.
"Wut?! Where did that come from?"
Once again, ignoring my question as naturally as he breathes, he continued.
"Yesterday, you fainted right after seeing my princess and that is more than enough for me to know that you want to have dibs on her while she is immature, don't you?" While carrying a mysterious aura, he chuckled as if he had deduced everything like a retired detective.
With all due respect, no shit sherlock.
Did you forget, that your wife was the one who fainted first after seeing my face?
But yeah, I get from where he is coming. Yesterday, before I fainted something strange happened to me. I don't know how but I remember every content of the Kuroko no Basket anime or this world that I watched in my previous life very clearly. It was as if I had watched the anime over and over to the point where I can even describe the side characters like Kagetora Aida without a hitch.
Kagetora, Riko's father, is a typical overprotective father who adores his daughter very much and wants to protect her from any tiniest harm. Heck, he even once pulled out a real gun and threatened the whole Seirin members over just a simple misunderstanding.
Yup, in this sense, he is more of a crazier person than I am.
"Then let me make this clear. Even if you are the only son of my friend, if you ever look at my princess with your lustful eyes then I will *censored*, I will *censored*."
Oh my god!! How can you say this to a 7-year-old kid? Even if those threats are useless and don't work on me, the question still stands.
How could you say such words?!! If there were any other kids besides me, I swear to god, they would have developed some unknown trauma by now.
Anyway, what should I do now then?
Cry? yeah, that's what most children do in this predicame--
"If you dare to cry, I will throw you out of the window without any hesitation. Also, for your reminder, I will tell you that my room is on the second floor… so having some broken bones is the last thing you should be worrying about."
My, my, my, his threat is getting even more intense. Geez, I'm just a kid, relax, mate.
Realising that I am thinking too much about this, I sighed deeply. I don't even like Riko or have any feelings towards her. Then there is no need for me to be scared, right?
Moreover...
"Haha-haha, you don't have to worry about that, uncle. I have zero interest in a girl who is bound to have a B-cup bre--"
I violently shoved both of my hands into my mouth to stop myself from finishing the words because I know very well that once I finished those words then they will eventually be my last words in this world.
"Why did you stop? Continue."
I repeatedly shook my head saying it wasn't as he thought but unfortunately, Uncle Aida, he was quick on uptake.
"How dare you say such insolent things about my princess?!!" He cried at the top of his lungs making me stomp out of the bed and reach for the door in fear.
His face was about to split apart in anger. It was a scene that I have never seen even in my past life.
"I'm sorry. It just slipped from my mouth!!!" I screamed while running for the hope of my life. I promise I will never talk about Riko in front of her father. I still wish to live a long life.
I started running down the stairs and soon enough, I found my saviour.
"Aunt Hina, Aunty Hina. Help me. This old man is bullying me!!" I explained the situation while hiding behind my aunty's back.
"Hey, who are you calling old man, punk? For your knowledge even if my daughter is one year older than you, I am still younger than your father."
Saying such, Riko's father tried to snatch me away with his long arms but auntie Hina bonk him with a ladle.
"Agh, it's hot. why did you do that? Which side are you on?" Uncle Aida whined acting like a kid who has been wronged in this situation.
What a 180 ° attitude change!
"Of course, I am on the kurayami-san side," Aunty said with a straight face as if it was already obvious.
'She is taking my side over her husband.'
"Aunty, I Luv you," I spoke out loud and gave a thumbs up in my heart but wait wasn't I supposed to do the opposite?
Oh, crap… here we go again.
"What did you just say?!! Now you are not even leaving my wife behind!! You just wait, I will kill you today."
This man… he is quite insane for his family.
I don't want to stay here anymore. My parents are 100 times better than him. At least, they won't try to kill their son.
Yeah, I will be safe if I go to my house.
"Aunty Hina, where are my parents? I missed them. I want to see them. Sob~sob~"
Crying a little will do the trick, right?
"Sorry, Kurayami-Kun…"
Unfortunately, what I didn't learn yet was the fact that life is full of twists and turns and the thing called fate enjoys bullying me.
"After you fainted and I regained consciousness, your parents came to me and told me that they will go on their little vacation, so, you will stay in our house until they arrive."
"…"
"…"
Both my uncle and I turned our faces at each other only to find dumbfounded expressions on our faces.
"That's impossible!!"
Uncle Aida chewed out with an annoyed face and I also follow with the flow.
"Y-yeah. Right. Aunty, you may not know this but my mom treats me like a princess. I have a ton of clothes that people will suspect if I am a girl in a boy's skin. It will be a hassle to bring them over."
"Huh. So, you are mama's boy."
"Oy, shut up for a moment, please."
Seeing our argument, Aunty Aida giggled before saying something that broke the thin ice I was walking on.
"You will be fine, Kurayami-Kun. The luggage that your parents brought over was actually yours, so, you don't have to take tension about your clothes. Also, until your parents come, we will treat you like our own son, not letting you feel unhappy about your parent's absence."
Honestly, I am very grateful for such thoughts but…
"My uncle wants to kill me for something."
"Yeah, I will kill him for that."
"I didn't know you guys, we're getting along already."
"We aren't!!"
"Okay, breakfast is ready, come on and feast," she said as she moved to the dining table.
She is not listening to us, is she?
"But--"
"Did I make myself clear?"
Both of us sighed, as we said in sync, "Yes, your majesty."
Aunty smiled at our response as she recalled, "Oh, right. Riko-Chan is still sleeping. Kura-Kun, can you go and wake her up--"
But before she could finish her words, Uncle Aida stormed off as the flash from comics before muttering. Though vague, I still heard him say.
"Not happening. As long as I am alive, the only person who can enter her room is me."
Is he just an overprotective father or a pervert?
I shook my head as I also walked near the table.
"I will help aunty in arranging tables."
"Thank you, Kura-Kun."
She gave me the brightest smile that made my eyes twitch from all the glow.
❄❄❄
Wearing a pink pajamas, I saw a girl walking toward the table with a sleepy face. She rubbed her half-closed as she yawned.
Well, that is the scene I will regard as something cute but I didn't have the relaxation to look at her since the heatwaves from the person beside her were enough to send chills down my spine.
"Ahem. Aunty your cooking is so good. It's even more delicious than my mother."
"Of course, after all, it was me who taught her cooking."
We keep talking about a lot of things like myself and how my parents are doing.
If it was yesterday then obviously, I would have badmouthed them but after seeing that they are as sweet as honey when compared to Kagetora Aida, I could only sugarcoat things.
"I heard you don't like basketball, is that true?"
The moment, Aunt Hina asked that question, everyone at the table looked at me as if they are seeing a species from a different world.
Oh, laughs on them, I am, in fact, a species from another world.
"No, I don't hate basketball, it's… just that I avoid it."
As I half-heartedly showed agreement to my auntie's question, a sharp glint flashed in Uncle Aida's eyes as he grabbed my arms and went outside the house excitedly, shortly after we finished our meal.
"Where are you taking Karu-Kun early in the morning."
Aunty asked to which my uncle replied in the balls of laugh.
"Don't worry, I'm just going to show him my gym."
And I have a very bad feeling about this.
