Kuangge Family Overseer?

"So... what are we going to do with this old man exactly?" Kedron picked up Lai Ho, who was currently unconscious by the neck, and asked Ronald.

Grant's 3 gunmen who were unfamiliar with Kedron immediately pointed their guns at Kedron the moment he had started making his way towards them, however, Grant signaled them to lower their weapons down after noticing that Kedron didn't seem hostile.

"Why are you asking me?" Although Ronald knew who Kedron was since he was pretty familiar with the assassin scene, he was definitely not familiar with Kedron to the point where he could start ordering him around.

"I know that we've only met once back when you were in highschool, but do you not recognize me or something?" Kedron replied back and then told his men to make up an excuse to the hospital staffs as to why there was a hole in the wall.

"In highschool? I mean I don't remember all that much since I've met quite a lot of people since then." Since Ronald didn't actually transmigrate into this body until it was 21 years old, which was pretty much the same age as his former self back on earth, he had no prior knowledge about anything before that.

And sadly he didn't get any of the previous memories from the original Ronald when he had first transmigrated.

"What a pity, but considering that we've only met once before, I'll formerly introduce myself again, I'm Kedron, and I currently work for your dad as one of the Overseers for the Kuangge family." Kedron reached out his hand for a handshake.

"You said you worked for my dad?" Ronald shook Kedron's hand and then asked in a confused tone.

"You don't believe me or something?" Kedron said in a slightly disappointed manner.

"It's not that I don't believe you, it's just that..." Ronald paused there and didn't say anything else.

It wasn't like Ronald didn't believe Kedron at all, since he had a strong feeling that Kedron wouldn't have any reason to lie to begin with.

But the thing was that this was the first time he's ever heard of this piece of information in his entire life.

And not only that, but it just didn't make any sense at all.

Why would someone like Kedron, who could be considered probably one of the strongest beings in the world as of right now, work for the Kuangge family?

Let alone him, one of his men that that had appeared today alone could single handedly destroy a major family that currently resides in China with just their strength alone.

Of course, if it was a couple of years later after cultivation had started becoming more widely known and popular, then it would've been a different story, but still.

Assuming that Ronald didn't want to leak out any important information since Grant was still around, Kedron slowly turned his head at Grant and just stared at him without saying a single word.

"Oh I see, you have some family secrets that you don't want anyone to know about, that's fine. I'll be on my way then, talk to you later Ronald." Assuming that Ronald had some important matter to discuss, Grant stated in a nonchalant manner and then waved to Ronald goodbye.

"So what made you start working for my father?" After watching Grant and his men disappear from his sight, Ronald questioned.

Ronald knew for a fact that his dad had no special redeeming qualities about himself other than the fact that he was considered the genius of all geniuses in the business world.

However, in a world where strength is everything, that alone definitely wasn't enough for someone of Kedron's caliber to follow around.

"Well originally I had been working for Mrs. Kuangge instead, but after she had gotten married to the boss, I pledged my loyalty to the Kuangge family, so here I am now." Kedron announced.

"My mother? Really? How strong was she then?" Since Ronald had been pretty interested about his mother in this world since he knew nothing about her at all other than the fact that she was dead, he couldn't help but ask.

"Strong, incredibly strong, I'm just like a grain of sand compared to her. I don't think you know what cultivation is, but she practically stood at the top of the cultivation world." Kedron boasted proudly.

The only reason why he was lucky enough to even get aquainted with Ronald's mother to begin with was because he got referred by someone who was working for her.

However, since he didn't meet the qualifications to cultivate at all, he got placed as a handyman for the sect.

But even though he was just a handyman for the sect, he still gained a ton of knowledge from the sect, and his skills and strengths right now proves it.

"Is that so? How'd my mother die then?" Assuming that his mother really is as strong as Kedron had made it out to be, Ronald asked suspiciously.

"I don't really know, one day Mrs. Kuangge told everyone not to disturb her while she was cultivating, and then she secluded herself from the outside world. But about a few hours later, a giant lightning strike struck her all of a sudden, resulting in her imminent death." Kedron stated in a slightly sad tone.

Upon hearing what Kedron had mentioned, Ronald couldn't help but widen up his eyes in surprise.

The reason why his mother had got struck by a lightning strike and died was because of something called a Heavenly Tribulation.

The Heavenly Tribulation in a nutshell, was pretty much a trial that every cultivator has to eventually experience and must overcome the moment they've reach a certain point in their cultivation if they want to continue their cultivating journey.

The Heavenly Tribulation usually takes its form in extremely powerful lightning bolts and strikes at the cultivator, and in order for a cultivator to overcome The Heavenly Tribulation and continue their path of cultivation, a cultivator has to endure The Heavenly Tribulation's fury long enough until the lightning strikes were over.

Most of the time however, a cultivator, including their soul, will perish from this trial never to be seen or even heard of again.

Of course, there are a few exceptions where a cultivator fails the trial but still ends up surviving, but those were mostly based on luck.

But what shocked Ronald the most wasn't the fact that his mother died to the The Heavenly Tribulation, since that was pretty much expected already.

It was the fact that since Kedron wasn't even a cultivator but practically was as strong as someone in the Qi Transformation Realm, that meant that his mother was in the 9th level of the Saint Realm.

After all, The Heavenly Tribulation only occurs when someone tries to go past the 9th stage of the Innate Realm, and occurs once again after the 9th stage of the Saint Realm.

And there was no way his mother was just at the 9th stage of the Innate Realm if she can teach someone who can't even cultivate to become as strong as someone in the Qi transformation Realm.

And let alone someone at the Saint realm, there wasn't even a known cultivator that currently exists in the Transcendent Realm.

But now that beckons the question, why did his mother marry his father then?

As it stands to reason, there would absolutely be no reason as to why his mother would marry his father.

She would've been better off waiting for someone at the second half of the novel to marry instead, no offense to his father.

'Hmm.'

"I'm just curious, you said one of the Overseers for the Kuangge family, right? How many more overseers does the Kuangge family have?" Ronald questioned.

"There's 11 more people." Kedron replied.

"..." Ronald couldn't help but become completely speechless after hearing the words come out of Kedron's mouth.

Eleven more?

What the hell?

Let alone 11 people, if there was even 5 people on the same caliber as Kedron was, Ronald was certain he could take over this world and rule it with an iron fist without even having to lift up a finger for the next couple of years until either stronger cultivators comes out of their seclusion, or someone like Lin Minyi appears out of nowhere.

More importantly, why hasn't he seen or even heard any of these other eleven people in either his past life or in the novel ever?

It just makes no sense at all.

"Well whatever, we'll talk more later..."

"And as for the old man... take him with us, I believe we still have some uses for him."
