Huh? Trueman raised a brow. What exactly was happening?
"Finish the letter" Romeo muttered impatiently.
Trueman nodded, still on his knees, he lowered his head to the letter and continued reading.
The words "You've been demoted to the post of a Janitor" struck a sour note in him.
He stared up at the man in front of him. His face full of grievance. He had no idea what he had done. But then remembering it was the legendary Romeo, he said nothing.
He could only call out in a respectful tone: "Sir!"
He felt really heartbroken. The demotion was really too much. From the looks of it, he would really be severly shamed. Going from somebody to nobody was really a thing of great distress.
Romeo's jaw's spasmed. He also felt it wasn't fair but the command came from Hazel, who was he to disobey her?
Trueman lowered his eyes. The best thing to do was to reject the offer but he knew so well it was the worst thing for a person of his caliber to do. Not only would he be laughed out but he would also be given demeaning jobs.
Everything Textile was a company which had a good reputation. It had the best pay for every position, the best working hours, good foods in the canteen and enough testing hours.
As it was, it was an unwritten rule in the state not to hire anyone fired from Everything Textiles as the company would only fire an employee when he or she had either stolen from the company or committed another greater serious act.
With a painful smile, the ma on the ground replied: "Alright Sir!"
Romeo stared down at the man for some seconds. Then slowly, he muttered: "Learn to be conceeding" afterwards, he turned around and walked away, some men in black trailing after him.
.....
After the school's closure, Hazel drove Damon and Ariel home. After successfully parking the car in a good spot inside the compound's garage, then pocketed her phone.
Not in the mood to enter a taxi and the presence of the person trailing her, she decided to walk home.
Taking different turns and corners, she met a dead end.
Behind her, the guy who had been trailing her stared around the place confusedly. He was sure she has taken the turn. So why was she not here?
He tsked already contemplating on how to relay to Tricia he could not get her.
He turned around and almost peed in his pants. In front of him was Hazel, staring at him with beady eyes and a creepy smile tugging the corner of her lips.
How did she get from there to there? He could already feel the fear seeping in to his bones. But on a second thought, he remembered he was a male and she was a female. Surely, if they engaged in a duel he was sure to win right? Right.
What he didn't expect was for her to vanish into thin air. His heart jumped to his mouth and his legs were ready to move when a cold metal pressed down on his neck.
His knees grew weak but he didn't fall to the ground in fear whatever she placed on his neck would not slit it.
Hazel who still had a smile on, leaned towards his right ear: "You surprise me!"
Cold sweat broke out on the guy's forehead.
Hazel felt the person in her grip stiffen but then relaxed.
Seconds later, a proud voice sounded: "If you kill me you won't get to know who it is that it after your life and more people will keep coming after you"
Hazel went silent after hearing that. The other party felt she was thinking it through but turned cold hearing her say: "I know who set and it would be nice to slit more throats when even if I had no idea."
"His body shivered slightly: "My people would also come looking for you."
Hazel chuckled: "That can only happen if if there's an evidence to prove you're dead and not just missing!"
The other party finally confirmed that he had met a demon. While he was already saying his last prayers, the girl pushed him away saying: "Tell her to stay away from whatever concerns me. Now, get lost lost!"
The other party nodded almost immediately and raced out. Hazel walked out of the alley and headed towards her home.
Pushing the door open, she came in contact with Damon who seemed to be waiting for her.
Sighting her, the boy gave a 'phew' then walked to her. Checking every inch of her, he straightened his back with a smile.
"I was so worried sister. Not that I feared you were hurt but that you might have stressed yourself a little too much."
Ariel who was watching them: "..." Can you get anymore stupid!?
Ignoring his blabber, Hazel grabbed him, walked past Ariel who's eyes were pinned on their interwhined eyes, a complicated expression on her face and headed upstairs to her room.
Damon on his part was also feeling like a king. Hazel who had no idea how her no physical contact had made her family members biased whenever she made a skin contact with anyone, continued walking.
Right from childhood. She detested having any form of physical contact with any of her family members. Only her mother was permitted to do so, because she was a medical practioner who had been trying to break the allergy.
Bypassing the second family member, who also stood watching them enviously, the duo got to Hazel's room.
She flung her bag to a side, then walked towards her bed, she pulled out the drawer close to it, taking out her silver-gray lense, her different eye colour of blue and silver-gray, were left bare.
Infatuated with the beautiful sight, Damon muttered: "The eyes are getting brighter and more hypnotizing!"
Hearing him, Hazel unconsciously glanced at the big mirror situated on the wall in front of her .
