Chapter390-The Faith of Avarthal

Just as Leo was planning to escape underground, he suddenly noticed that the ghosts seemed to be frozen in place, all of them standing still without moving. Even the enormous ghost that resembled royalty was lying there, staring blankly at one spot. The entire population of ghosts in Avarthal were fixated on this one point.

Curiosity piqued, Leo followed their gazes and found a man standing at the entrance to the underground. Yes, it was Reo. There were no notable changes about him; still sporting that same cheeky grin and showing no signs of monstrous transformation even after absorbing the blood gem. Yet, the more normal Reo looked, the more off it felt to Leo. After all, what Reo had absorbed was the Griffin's blood carrying the essence of the ancient gods, so why was there no noticeable change?

"Uncle Leo, you've worked hard," Reo started, and Leo retorted with a furrowed brow, "What's the deal, kid? Did you not succeed in the absorption?"
