The ragged-looking NPC shook his head and walked away without a backward glance, shouting over his shoulder, "Whether it's true or not, I've given you an opportunity today, it's up to you if you can seize it." As he spoke, he tripped over a small rise in the ground and faceplanted, completely bereft of any dignity befitting a wise man.

He quickly got up, muttering a few curses before staggering away from the main street. After the NPC had left, the player murmured to himself, "Not a single useful word comes out of these drunks every day."

"Yeah, exactly," another player who popped up out of nowhere agreed, "I met an old man yesterday who claimed he was the city lord of Nether Scales City, he said he wanted me to become a high official there. I almost died laughing."

"This all started with Leo's tavern, if they hadn't launched their 'Drunk Life, Dream Death' wine, where would all these weird NPCs have come from?"
