It was past midnight when she first saw her. Her eyes were tightly shut and her champagne-colored evening dress clung to her skin firmly.
She looked peaceful as her chest moved slightly indicating light breathing. Her long hair was packed in a high ponytail with a twisted braid. She had light makeup on her face with nude-colored lipstick.
There was a thin line of blood rushing from her mouth and her dress looked a little disheveled. At one glance you would know she was in an accident.
Kim Aera looked at her younger brother whose eyes never left the petite girl once. For the first time, since that incident, she saw different waves of emotions rush past his ever-so-glowing silver eyes.
He finally looked up and as if it was just an illusion, his eyes returned to normal.
"Can you please take care of her?" he asked his sister with pleading eyes and handed over the girl to him.
Aera studied the girl's face more. The girl was frowning slightly as she closed her eyes shut. Her hands were curled up in a fist as if she was battling with her head to stay awake, but no matter what, she still couldn't give in.
Aera guessed that she must be a fighter, given her strong-willed expression. Besides, her brother wouldn't be worried for nothing. She nodded her head to him and walked up the stairs in the direction of her room.
"Take her to my room" she heard a faint voice that was barely above a whisper but due to the silent night, she heard it clearly and a small smile crept unto her face.
...
The rain poured heavily and the heavy droplets landed heavily on her soft skin.
The whole place was dark as a girl with a T_shirt and a pair of jeans ran speedily as fast as her legs could carry her.
Her clothes were dripping wet and they clung tightly around her skin.
Her long shiny black hair was scattered around her face and she continually brushed them out of her eyes as she struggled to see clearly. The heavy raindrops landing on her long lashes didn't make matters any better. For once she wished her lashes were a little bit shorter as it was only adding to her burden now.
Kiaraa would have used her car but when she came out, she found all the tires flat, 'They planned well this time' she muttered in her head and scolded herself for not sensing the danger lurking around her.
She didn't have time to ponder on the situation much as she opted for the only option left and which was to run. She somehow felt that it was hopeless but she still wished that she could find a place to hide before they could catch up to her.
This time around, she ran instead of hopping into danger like she did the last time. Who knew what schemes they have planned this time around. She couldn't succumb to death easily. It's either she fought or ran and this time she chose the latter.
Kiaraa found a little alley and was a little bit relieved but right at the entrance she stopped and went into deep thinking. It will be very obvious for them to find her here. She didn't want to end up like those helpless female leads she has always read about and watched in movies who got chased and finally got caught in an alley then the handsome prince charming saves her right before she dies.
She didn't mind fighting off some few men who took her as a weak princess but here's where the harsh reality hits her, she had to prince charming to save her if she eventually couldn't handle the situation.
The last time she was lucky and she knew someone was going to find her if she at least left a clue and that's when she thought of her earrings.
She was confident that her father would find it if he noticed that she was missing, but never in her wildest dream did she expect Adrian to be there.
In movies, the male lead comes in and beats off the bastards, and finally, the female lead looks at him with dreaming eyes while the male lead acts worried and checks if she's hurt or anything. But Kiaraa's was different, she didn't even get the chance to see her hero's face before she passed out, and then she had no idea what happened next.
Looking at the situation, whether she enters the alley or continues running she'll still be in danger and all she had to do was to brace herself up for the upcoming battle.
She stepped back because running into the alley would be more dangerous if they caught her. She looked at the quiet street devoid of any soul, 'It's better we fight here instead' she thought and turned around preparing herself to continue running but she stopped in her tracks immediately.
She shook her head with a mortified expression. "Oh no, not again..."
