'Alright, class dismissed.' All of the year 9 students rushed out of the classroom with their belongings. The teacher sighed heavily and began packing up her things when someone knocked on the classroom door. The teacher looked up and saw a shy student waiting at the door.
'Mikayla, what can I do for you?' The teacher asked calmly, Mikayla entered the classroom and put her belongings on a desk.
'Um . . . do you have a minute?' The teacher stopped packing up and nodded, they both grabbed a chair and sat down at one of the desks.
'Is this about the chemistry work?'
'No, it's something kind of personal but I feel comfortable letting you know.'
'Would you like me to close the door?' Mikayla nodded and the teacher rose from her seat and closed the classroom door.
'So, you know how finding your sexuality is kind of a big thing now?'
'Mmhmm.'
'Well - I'm gay.' The teacher stood up and hugged Mikayla.
'Congratulations.' She murmured, the student sighed in relief and hugged the teacher back.
'Thank you, for always being here for me, Miss Pyro.'
'Always a pleasure, Spork. You better run along otherwise the bus will leave without you.' Miss Pyro whispered, Spork smiled and exited the classroom.
---
Miss Pyro was strolling peacefully to her office when she heard footsteps trotting towards her.
'Hey, Oli!' Miss Pyro let out a frustrated sigh as one of her co-workers began walking next to her.
'Good Afternoon Miss Laurent.' Pyro grumbled.
'Call me by my real name.'
'No.'
'Why?'
'I don't want to.' Unfortunately the two teachers' offices' were in the same small room and were next to each other. Oli pulled out her phone and huffed. 'Dammit, look, Laurianne. I would love to keep having this conversation but I am terribly late. Goodbye.' Pyro hooked her bag onto her back and headed towards the exit.
'Don't be a strict Spinosaurus!' Laurent called just as the door was about to close. 'That was bad, I need to come up with something different.'
