Noah quickly left the village the same way he did last time and walked through the plains, Monster: Online only really blew up after its first update where money conversion was added, it was approximately 2 weeks away from happening so the number of players currently in the game was quite low being only around a few million, which would rapidly multiply in the future.
Noah saw quite a few people killing slimes wearing the basic equipment, which consisted of normal cloth clothing, the same that Noah was wearing and an Iron training sword that they could get by talking to a blacksmith or merchant and completing a quest that they gave, they could also get one from the training grounds but no one really went there this early, only a few people had discovered the training grounds and most didn't want to spend hours training for a few stats, those would also be the people that would never rise through the rankings.
Noah ignored all of them and entered the forest, he got a few weird stares but most just assumed that he had been playing longer and had already leveled up.
Noah walked through the forest at a normal pace, he encountered a few wolves but didn't have any problems walking through the forest, there weren't many things that could threaten him now, he'd have a bit of trouble if the elite version of the mini-boss showed up but he'd be able to defeat it eventually.
Elites were basically the stronger version of a monster, they had a very slim chance to show up and basically never did unless you spent hours, or days depending on the type of monster searching for one, they were a lot more common at higher levels though.
Noah walked for around an hour and arrived at the foot of a mountain, you could see the faint outline of the mountain from the village, the mountains were the last zone where you would find monsters from level 5 to 20, after crossing through the mountains you would be able to enter the global server where the game truly began.
Noah walked for another 10 minutes before he found what he was searching for, he had cleared the dungeon many times before so he knew where it was located and knew the best tactics to take care of it, he was surprised he remembered this much but he had spent months in the 'tutorial zone' as it was called, he was quite the noob in the beginning so he clearly remembered most things here.
The entrance of the dungeon was just a large cave where you would need to clear the monsters in it to gain access to the dungeon.
Noah grabbed his sword and walked to the cave.
Since he had entered the mountain zone he could potentially encounter a level 20 monster inside, Noah would rather not deal with such a high-level enemy this early on as it would waste a lot of his time.
Noah entered the cave and was immediately met with the snarling snouts of multiple level 5 wolves.
Noah smiled and charged ahead easily taking care of them, his stats were enough to take care of a level 10 easily so he wasn't very afraid of encountering a high-level opponent, he wasn't very deep in the mountains and he doubted that such a low-level quest would have high risks.
Noah quickly took care of the few wolves gaining another 100 Exp and advanced.
He walked quickly while looking out for any traps but there weren't any, the cave was quite deep as you had to walk around 10 minutes to reach the end of it, on the way to the end of the cave Noah encountered a few more wolves but none of them gave him any problems.
Noah eventually reached the end of the cave, the end of the cave was basically a large cavern filled with wolves.
One of the wolves stood out from the rest, Noah noted.
[Elite Giant Wolf, lvl: 10]
This was the strongest monster in the cavern, the rest of the wolves present were all around level 6 to 8.
Noah grinned, if he remembered correctly then there was also an achievement for being the first to kill an elite, this achievement was only per server though so there wouldn't really be any big rewards.
Noah hadn't seen the notification for someone getting it to appear so he would be the first one to ever kill an elite.
There wasn't much he could do here except charge at them, there were some stalagmites above the wolves but there was no way for Noah to get to them other than throwing his sword or a stone at them but it would honestly just be faster if he attacked the wolves head-on.
So he did.
Noah charged right in, he jumped down from the ledge he was standing on and stabbed his sword into the neck of a wolf, immediately doing enough damage to kill it.
The elite immediately noticed him and growled, without a second thought the elite wolf charged at Noah, Noah dodged to the right as he stabbed another wolf that had charged at him.
The elite was fast, extremely so, Noah knew that it would take him a minute to take it down.
Noah started practically dancing around the wolves dodging a flurry of swipes and bites, any wolf that lunged at him regretted it as they found themselves impaled by Noah's sword, within a few minutes every single wolf other than the elite had been taken care of.
Noah stood across from the elite who was bleeding in multiple places, meanwhile, Noah had yet to lose any health.
The two charged at each other once again, and in a bout of rage the wolf made a fatal mistake, it exposed a weak spot to Noah who immediately took advantage of it by stabbing the wolf ruthlessly through its heart.
With a cry of pain the wolf went down and disappeared into tiny particles leaving behind a few coins and a pair of gloves.
[You have defeated an Elite monster.]
[You are the first person to defeat an Elite in your server!]
[Your achievement will be announced to the server do you wish to keep your name anonymous?]
'No.' Noah thought to himself.
[Congratulations to player {Noah} for being the first person to defeat an Elite monster!]
This message was repeated another three times in front of all online players.
[You have received 1 E-rank weapon, 1 E-rank skill book, and a set of potions!]
Noah was quite satisfied with the rewards, while the weapon didn't hold much value it wasn't bad to have a reserve in case his current weapon ever broke.
Noah decided to immediately use the skill book, there wasn't any point in waiting.
"Learn Skill," Noah said while holding a green book.
[Heavy Slash
Rank: E
Description: You perform a stronger than normal slash dealing 50% more damage.
Requires 50 Mana per use.]
Noah nodded, he finally got a skill he could use.
He looked around the room and picked up all the loot he had gotten, from the exp that he gained from this he became level 6, quite possibly one of the highest level players currently.
He walked up to a large portal-looking stone arch, this was the entrance to the dungeon, the dungeon housed many different monsters, this one mostly wolves, and had 10 floors that you had to clear in order to beat it.
