O'ruma city

A large came structure came into view. It is a white tower, but this one is not as high as the Dumo tower. Surrounding it is a wall 40-meter-high wall. With a city outside of it. The wall is a circular wall that has a radius of around 50 km meters.

Outside the wall is a building that has poor quality structure. Most part of it is the slum. You can find a good quality one if you get closer to a wall.

Velo senses the parallel from the Dumo tower. Even though we build a new civilization, the class of people still exists.

The vehicle travel through a checkpoint that's only a guard post. Nothing but a wasteland surrounds the slum city. You can see some vehicles patrolling along the area. This is a Hunter request that the hunter guild gives to maintain some level of safety.

Velo got dropped in the outer part of the slum city. A sight he's familiar with. The slight trash smell mixed with the dry ground makes up this part of the city a unique smell.

Velo, walk slowly, trying to avoid the Bando gang. He unluckily stole from their drunken boss one time and it didn't end well. He makes his wall into a Hunter's Guild.

This place is neutral in almost every city. It supports hunters and gives out requests. Usually, it also doubles as a bar for hunters to gather and celebrate their victory.

A hunter's job is flexible. It covers all things from hunting relics in an old-world ruin to killing monsters. As long as you're willing to get rich from the wasteland, you can be categorized as a hunter.

Usually, hunters judge how skilled another hunter is by their rank. Beginner hunter will be around 1-20. an intermediate hunter will be around 20-40. The moment people will consider you a veteran hunter who knows how to hunt effectively is around rank 50 and above. The people who reach that level usually move to an east frontline where more powerful monsters are.

Velo walks up to the receptionist and slams the plastic bag in front of them.

"Can I sell these?"

"Y..yes"

The receptionist was startled at the boy's aggressive manner. In reality, Velo just doesn't know how to act in this situation. The receptionist girl takes the bag and brings it to their appraise. She returns with a piece of paper in her hand.

"This is your first time here, right?"

Velo nod. She hands him a piece of paper with the number 489 on it along with 3 silver coins with a T logo on them.

"Since this is your first time and you're not a hunter, we can't prioritize your relic analysis. Please come back tomorrow and bring the paper in. We can guarantee that you won't be a ripoff. We value our reputation greatly."

Velo left with a paper. It is getting late so he has to find a place to sleep. Usually, he would sleep on the streets, and he plans on sleeping there today too.

3000 tels can book a cheap hotel room in the slum for one night but he can't waste it all on a good bed. His sense of money wouldn't allow it. Velo, walk down the alleyway trying to find at least a metal sheet for a bed.

Once he finds a nice-looking place, he settles in and thinks about what he would do next. his peace got interrupted by 3 people.

"Hey!! Kid, give me your money!!"

"We saw you come out of the hunter guild with the ques paper. Give it to us!!"

They point their pistol at Velo. He's not surprised by this situation. He even wonders why it takes so long for someone to come and mug him. They're three adults pointing their pistols at a little kid for 3000 tels.

Velo, walk up to them with the three-coin he receives. The thieves see that and think that Velo would just give them the money. He won't give them anything, not in a million years.

They let their guard down, and Velo strikes the one in the front with a pipe. He swigs the pipe up and knocks the pistol out of the thief's hand. It caught the thief by surprise and Velo utilize that by shoving a whole pipe in the thief's face.

It knocks the guy out instantly. Velo grab the thief's body and use it as a hostage. Gambling on the fact that they have some kind of connection and won't shoot him through their friend's body.

"He's still alive!!"

Velo, shout to distract the thieves from shooting and recover the pistol mid-air when it came down. He shot them while hiding behind the one he knocked out. At this range, he only needs one headshot to finish his job.

Bang! Bang!

Two bodies drop dead in a second. Despite being in a slum, this is the first time he killed someone. He mostly pickpockets and avoids confrontation. He doesn't feel remorse maybe because something like this happens every day in the slum, so he is numb about it.

Often time he would wonder what life would be like if he was born inside a wall. Would it be better than his life right now? Living happily under a roof and having lovely parents. Velo imagines that it would be more peaceful than this.

But he also can't get a clear image of what it looks like. It was such a weird concept to him. He looks around to see if they're more people to rob him, but luckily there's no reinforcement. He finishes the knock-out guy and heads to find a new place to sleep.

Sleeping with a corpse is not what he would say comfortable. Even in a slum, he still has standards. Velo settles on another sheet of metal three blocks away from the incident. The sun has been down for a while now, so he's rather sleepy.

He sleep with a smile on his face, knowing that tomorrow he would make big money.
