CH:4 Building Bonds

As we were heading down a long hallway pulling the few glowing crystals along the way, I took this time to really examine the turtles out of curiosity.

The one in the orange ninja eye mask with short ties at the back, Michelangelo, is the shortest of the turtles. He is almost the same hight as me but a few inches taller if you don't count my horns. He is also the darkest and deepest shade of green in perfect contrast with his bright and vibrant green eyes. His eyes match his personality as he is very carefree and energetic. His weapons of choice were nunchucks with the same orange material as his mask wrapped around the grips.

The turtle in a red bandana pulled down to his nose with eye holes cut out, Raphael, is the tallest of the turtles and quite a bit more muscular. He is the second darkest in colour but definitely not that deep of a green. Instead he is a lot more vibrant. He also had a few chips in his shell, probably repercussions coused by that hot temper of his. Raph has deep pools of gold for eyes that darken to a deep amber every time he gets pissed off. His weapon of choice is the sais, also with his mask material on the handles.

Donatello rocks the purple eye mask but his ties are as long as my hair, reaching to the bottom of his shell if he didn't always have it in the front over his shoulder. And overly large glasses with tape holding them together in the middle. Him and Leo are almost the same hight coming in the middle but Donny is a bit more of a slimmer build then the rest of the turtles. He's more of a lighter olive colour and has all sorts of tech strapped to his shell and wrists. A person can really see his intelligence behind his big brown eyes which makes his weapon of choice quite shocking since its a simple wooden bo staff, with more of his mask material wrapped around the middle of the staff.

And finally Leonardo. His ninja eye mask is a striking blue that only looks dim compared to his electric blue eyes. The ties of his mask are fairly long but not as long as Donny's and its a bit wider on Leo's face. His skin is a lush vibrant shade of forrest green. He has twin katana blades strapped to his back, both blue wrapped handles sticking out over his right shoulder. With how serious he is, its clear that Leo is the leader of his brothers. Even if Raph doesn't like it.

They all have thick brown sashes tied around their waists, which Mikey and Raph keep their weapons sheathed. With dark gray wraps around their elbows, hands, knees, and feet.

I guess they got they feeling that I'm staring since they all started looking at me causing me to have a loss of words 'I mean, I was just blatantly checking them out.' Between my thoughts and their eyes, it's all making me feel slightly awkward causing me to blush. Which stands out very well on my white skin, even in the dark hallways of the abandoned city. Finally Mikey spoke up, "Girl, ya know ya like the view!" He says as he puts his hands behind his head and starts strutting forward a bit faster. This earned him a quick smack to the back of the head from Raph followed by a "Bonehead!" I couldn't help but burst out laughing and after that the rest of the crystal collection went by like flying colours as we chatted about all sorts of things, sharing the differences of our childhoods and how we grew up. I mostly listened to them since everything I shared shocked them a lot being that I mostly lived my life on my own.

Turns out I actually have quite a lot in common with all four turtles despite all that. From the itch to know how things work like Donny, to diligent training like Leo, in contrast to loving to kick back and joke around like Mikey, but also having a hot temper like Raph. 'It's kinda understandable why almost all of my practically emotionless kind shunned me. Since I had no family or friends its no wonder why I volunteered my life away. But now it feels more like a second chance.' I grin at this thought.

We finally get to the outer edge of the city. "We are almost to the outer gate, I honestly thought we would come across more working crystals then this." Just as these words leave my mouth we round a corner to see twenty crystals light up.

"Holly shell! That's twice as many as we have found so far!" shouted Donny excitedly as he ran to one of the crystals. I started to get a bad feeling as we got to work.

Sure enough as we were gently working on the last five crystals the ground started to shake and small rubble and dust started falling from the ceiling. "Leave them! We don't have time!" I shouted pulling Donny away from the crystal he is trying to remove.

"Says you." Raph scoffes as he jammed his sai into the crack beside the crystal and popped it out before running like crazy to catch up with us. Tossing it to Donny jokingly saying, "Happy birthday, D" With a smerk.

At this point the tremors have begun to get even worse. Violently shaking everything in sight. Walls are starting to crumble and fall as we round the last corner. 'And now it's a straight shot', I think as I spot the long ass bridge to freedom.

As we are booking it under the enormous arch that supports the gate which is just before the bridge, it starts crumbling and huge boulders came crashing down all around us. One is coming straight down onto Raph but I'm close enough to grab his arm. Pulling him to the side, just missing the boulder as we continue running with everything we got.

Once we are halfway across the bridge, the city itself started to crumble with the far outer edges falling off into the lava lake. And that is when we heard what we feared the most at that very moment. A loud cracking sound that came from under our feet.
