After releasing his attack against the Eternal Flames Phoenix, Maricus felt slightly better. Just because he did not plan to kill the feathered spirit beast did not mean that he was not angry.

After all, he had been attacked with a technique that could destroy the True Lord realm cultivator without leaving behind any traces. Only due to his advanced cultivation and the Shroud of Undying Sun, Marcius was able to stay more or less unscathed.

As the dust settled and the surroundings began to clear again, Marcius looked around. Except for those who were killed in the first attack, it seemed that the rest of the Solas knights managed to retreat safely into the siege camp. That calmed Marcius's mind, somewhat.
