Chapter 3

After walking afar distance, Miranda's phone rang. Peering for a long time she didn't pick up until the call was about to hang up.

"...Miranda" the voice sounds nervous calling her name on the other side.

"Where are you?" The voice question.

Miranda lifted, her glamorous eyes to the night star twinkling never-ending.

"Brother, the star is shining beautifully today"

"....."

Quite, no one spoke again for a minute the breeze blew strongly it already started to snow.

Miranda clutch the scarf around her and with a bit of fear she questioned "Are you also blaming me, brother Artem?"

"Miranda—"

"If you're also blaming me then hang up"

Miranda softly interrupts him, but the other side was quiet.

"Miranda" Artem softly calls.

"Where are you I will come to you"

"No need" She tossed the word out softly, there were a lot of snowflakes covering Miranda and she nervously quave.

"I will return when things settle there, brother Artem you understand my situation right?"

"How the hell do you want me to understand, Miranda the entire proof is pointing you're guilty"

The voice erupts, she could hear Artem's voice vividly irritated.

"Oh" Miranda drag the single sentence disappointed.

"I won't return except everything settled..."

"No need for you to come back"

"What?" She spoke in panic.

"That was the man's word!"

Her eyes shrunk with waves of emotion, tears filled her dazzling openings without a drop of a tear rollout.

"Is that so?!"

"Don't call me again!"

"Mi—"

Miranda hangs up on the anxious voice, her eyes lower staring at the contract number written 'Brother'.

"Brother" Marinda scoffed naming the word in her mouth, it taste nothing sweet except sour.

She scrolls and blacklists the number then moves away slowly seeming like a broken piece, lifeless.

Early morning, with the sun reflecting through the sliding glass door Miranda lazily lay in the middle of the huge bed without flicking.

She has been in a daze since last night, it was even difficult for her to fall asleep Marinda sighed with relief and turned around closing her eyes to fall asleep again.

Knock!!!

Marinda snapped, she sits on the bed with an unbelievable expression written all over her. She reverts her gaze to the wall clock it was only 7:40 in the morning.

So who in their right mind would bother her on the early day of Sunday.

Knock, knock, knock.

The door knocked again this time with a furious bang, Marinda got off the bed upset she paced toward the door.

"Who?" She sounds furious.

"Candy love is me, open up."

Marinda heard the familiar voice of Emily Scott she narrowed her eyes while opening the doorknob, Marinda glared daggers at Emily voicing out unpleasant.

"Emily you wanna die or what, why are you knocking on someone's door around this hour?"

The girl caring no less about the cranky woman cries out "Marinda"

Emily suddenly hugs Marinda, Marinda's body sways violently out of the balance from the sudden hug, holding onto the lady the two fall straight to the floor.

"What's with you?"

"He broke up with me...How could he be so heartless to me?"

"What a pity"

Emily raised a little puzzle she stare confused and angry "What do you mean what a pity"

"Emily gets off me first" Miranda scowled.

Seeing the woman's serious and pale face Emily slowly gets up. After a while, Emily already calmed down her graceful posture stood staring deep at the water.

"Wow, Miranda you truly are great at choosing a suite."

The lodge Emily was complementing enjoying the view outside was one of the top luxury lodges in Wu city built in a calm and remote area. With the one large bedroom and living room open up directly onto a large terrace which was built purposely for the beauty of the eyes spread in with a mountain and lake.

Emily happily looks back to Miranda who seems to pick up her phone at the moment, exuding an aura of elegance as her long fingers scroll through the screen.

Eyeing what was written on her phone Miranda snorted and her gaze leaned toward Emily, Emily's curiously tilt questioning "What's wrong?"

"Take it!"

Stretching her hands Emily collects the phone the moment her eyes land her pupils widen at what was written on the net.

Marinda calmly stare at her friend pacing from up to down after reading the net, that wasn't the only matter to consider. Emily is a top net worth model and a brand ambassador that many look up to, with this going on the net means her name is about to be dragged into the mud.

Marinda pick up her coffee and inquire "Shouldn't you be contacting your agent about this?"

Emily paused and finally got back to the track her distress disappear lightly after a message flashed from her phone.

"No need someone will take care of it"

Emily slouched on the couch, returning Marinda's phone "Remember the movie 'Scarlet Blood'"

Marinda was speechless Emily doesn't even seem to care that her word are starting to cause a ruckus to her reputation, she just acting cute and spoiled as usually.

Ping—

Marinda was quietly watching a video post just now on the net, her lips muttered "Was this the reason you slapped him?"

"Huh?"

Emily raise to check what she was muttering about.

The video spotted William at a club drinking and dancing with strippers. He was making out with strange women older than he looks, he didn't even seem to care if anyone saw him.

"Was it?" Marinda raises her eyebrow asking, Emily only nods lowering her gaze her eyes already filled with tears.

"Why...Why are they always hurting me?Aren't I worth their love?"

Emily weeps the drop of tears her voice echoing sounding downcase, Emily has dated twenty men already in her twenty-three years of living. Every man she dated either betray or used her for their purpose without a care in the world about what might happen to her.

Marinda suspire. Indeed Emily is a pity soul, her heart was soft and easy to win yet strong when it gets broken.

"Don't be fool by the face again, find a better man next time"

Emily rest her head on Marinda's shoulder, she cheerfully uttered.

"I will as long as the man is handsome, he is better"

"I only love handsome men after all!"
