On the Way to Immortality

The voice left the young woman unsure.

The sword had already appeared in her hand, but her mother wouldn't let go of her.

"Don't be angry… Don't think about revenge. It'll only destroy you," said the old woman.

The young woman looked down at the bloodstained face of her mother.

"Listen to me, my daughter. Your father and I have lived for a long time. Our only wish is to see you grow. Hatred will make you lose your humanity. It'll become a hurdle in your path of knowledge," said the old woman as her pale face regained its radiance.

It was as though life had returned to her body.

"Promise me," said the old woman as she held onto her tightly.

"You disappointed your parents," said the voice again.

The young woman found herself in a dilemma.

"It's alright. Don't be rash. I'll watch over you, my daughter. Your father and I… we'll be there for you… always. Everything will be fine," said the old woman tenderly.
