Quasar

Atop of the FEAST building, Thor was talking over his earpiece. Behind him was Avril, who shuffled where she stood feeling like she was in trouble.

"You're sure that you don't need back up?"

"I'm sure Robin."

"Because the team and I-"

"Robin."

"Okay, okay....just want to make sure", Robin relented, "But I can't promise that the League won't get involved."

"Let'em."

Thor turned towards Avril now, who was not in her space super suit anymore. She gave Thor an anxious look before letting out a sigh. "Well?", Thor started with folded arms over his chest, "Wanna tell me why you stole alien bracelets?"

"I didn't steal it!"

"Then what, someone gave them to you?"

"Yes..."

Thor's brows furrowed when she said that, causing him to take a deep breathe for the conversation ahead. "So who gave them to you?"

Avril stared at Thor for a moment then looked off towards the city. She closed her eyes gathering her words and pursing her lips. "Wendell Vaughn....my mentor."

Thor waited for her to continue as Mjölnir hung from his belt.

"Wendell was the original holder for the Quantum Bands, he's actually a known hero across the galaxy. He told me some space god gave him the Bands and called him the protector of the universe. The guy was a legend, and pretty much like a father to me..."

Her voice cracked when she got to that last sentence, hinting that something happened.

"A year ago, while he was trying to teach me something. His archenemy showed up wanting the Bands for himself. They were fighting with the intention to kill so Wendell took the fight to space. I just watched like a scared little girl...until after a bright light went off like a supernova. That was when I saw the Bands came back down, choosing me. I don't know why me, but I guess Wendell though I could be the next Quasar."

Thor frowned as he listened to Avril's story. He could tell that the memory of it was more like a nightmare. He moved his arms off his chest then approached her. With an outstretched hand, he placed it on her shoulder. "If you think that's bad let me tell you my superhero backstory."

Avril opened her eyes and looked over at Thor with a curious look. No one never did know how Thor got his powers or if he was a real God. Then again, she was still suspicious of him considering that he and Donald knew each other too well.

"I was on a field trip to Norway, looking at all the cool Norse stuff. We ended up coming across Thor's hammer." He gestured to Mjölnir.

"Then I heard it telling me that I was worthy", Thor saw her give him an 'Are you serious look', "I'm serious, the hammer literally started talking."

Avril shook her head then sighed before turning to Thor now. He still towered over her like a giant. "So, how did you get over being chosen?"

Thor contemplated over that question for a moment before giving Avril a slight smirk. "Easy, I decided that if it chose me then it saw something that I didn't see."

Those words made Avril give him a confused look. She didn't really understand what that meant, which prompted Thor to continue his explanation. "People aren't really sure what's inside of them. Those who act like that they know what's inside of them are the worse type of people. How someone knows what they're really like? Put them in an uncomfortable situation where their faults are for all to see."

Avril was surprised by Thor's wise words, then furrowed her brows at him. "Did you come up with that or did someone tell you that?"

Thor went silent for a moment, then did his best with a poker face. "I came up with that." He lied. In all honesty, the person who said that to him was none other than Diana herself. During their time as teacher and student, she told him alot of inspiring and wise words. So he was using it here for someone who could use it. "Anyway!"

Thor raised his voice to get them back on track, even though Avril was giving him a smirk. "We got an alien wannabe Thor outside of Earth wanting to blow us all to Hell, and they want the Bands. Anything that you can tell me that could help?"

To this, Avril shook her head causing Thor to place a hand on his chin in thought. That was when he could hear someone approaching them from behind. With a quick turn, he looked towards the otherside of the building to see no one. Unfortunately for the mystery person, Thor trusted his senses knowing full well that someone was there. "Come out, I can hear you and smell you." Thor warned and felt a grossed out glare from Avril pointed at him, "It comes with the powers."

"So you really are hard to sneak up on." Commented a deep male voice. A man in a white costume climbed over the ledge of the building. He wore a cloak that went all the way down to his feet, a hood that covered most of his head. His mask made his eyes seek to just glow with white light behind them. The moon shined behind him, silhouetting his figure.

"Moonknight...you're real?" Thor questioned in honest surprise, not knowing that the man existed. He had assumed that Moonknight was just some spook that Batman made up. Now seeing the guy show up and having fitting every description about him, made him a believer.

Avril on the other hand was out of the loop, never having heard of the vigilante before them. She assumed that this Moonknight character was just another part of the Bat's coterie of sidekicks. Of course, she was very wrong about that.

"I saw what happened earlier this afternoon", Moonknight began, "I'm glad to see that we've got heavy hitters outside of the League."

"So you didn't wanna join them?"

"Too many rules."

"Heh, I didn't join them because they were to oblivious to what's going on."

That caused a slight chuckle to leave Moonknight's lips, finding that both hilarious and accurate. This is when Avril cleared her throat to get their attention. "Oh right, this is uh...um...Marvel Girl?" Thor named her, gaining a deadpan glare from her.

"Quasar", Avril named herself, "The name is Quasar, what brings one of Batman's stooges all the way in Northbridge?"

That question gained a sigh from Thor who was facepalming. Avril was even more confused when she saw Thor do this. Moonknight however let out a deep breathe, finding the idea of being a part of Batman's sect of vigilantes frustrating. "I am not one of Batman's puppets."

Before Quasar could question that statement, Moonknight got them back on track as to why he was there. "I've noticed that villains who are either elusive or are more common acting strangely, the League has yet to do anything about it. So I am proposing an alliance of us few outsiders."

That got Thor raising a brow at Moonknight, the man was a lone wolf and he wanted to work with other heroes?

"What's the catch?"

"You're smarter than you look, the catch is not to reveal our identities with one another. The world needs a team of heroes outside of the League's jurisdiction, outside of their rules. Right now I've found you two and another in England. He's on board as long as we don't do anything that throws the world into supernatural danger."

Thor pondered on this proposal, musing over it and seeing the idea working. Just as he was about to come to a decision, Quasar answered for them.

"We're in."

Thor looked over at her with an incredulous look, not sure why she spoke for both of them. However, he was on board with the idea of a team coming together. One who fought the bad guys without any of the Justice League's reservations. When Thor went to look at Moonknight, the cloaked vigilante was gone.

'Did....did he just Batman me?' Blake thought, 'How do they do that!?'

Thor looked to Avril now he also looked perplexed on how the man just disappeared. With a reluctant sigh, Blake decided that the day was over with for him. He moved away from Avril as she turned her attention back to him. "I'm gonna head home, this day has been a whole sorts of crazy, revealing, and....maybe good."

Avril pursed her lips once more as she watched Thor begin to wind up Mjölnir once more. She wanted to ask him but felt that he was probably going to be busy. Just as he was taking off, she called out to him. "Thor!"

Thor stopped several dozen feet in the air and looked back at her. He had a risen brow as he waited for her to tell him why she was stopping him. "I was wondering, could you teach me how to use my powers?"

That question gained a slight smile from Thor, though beneath his skin Blake felt like she was asking alone time with him. Then he thought more clearly if it, she was asking Thor not Blake. "I can try, I'm not entirely sure what all you can do."

Avril nodded but had a hopeful smile form over her lips. "No worries, we can figure that out whenever you feel like we should start", she offered and watched Thor shake his head.

"No, we start when you feel like it."

With that, he continued to take off into the air. The Thunderer was fading off into the distance, leaving Avril alone as he soared through the skies. It wouldn't be long before he arrived in a suburban area, one where a two story house was. He landed in the backyard of said house and got ready to transform back into Blake. He stopped upon noticing a red sort of floating object in the backyard.

Thor was confused by what he was looking at, but then turned to see one of his superhero friends, Rick Grayson. The preteen was on his disguise as well as Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Superboy somewhat. There was even a red headed teen girl with them. Thor gave them a little glare before pointing Mjölnir at Dick.

"So you called me and still decided to show up at my house?"

Thor's tone sounded annoyed and almost betrayed since he didn't want his home to be a place for others like him to just crash.

"Look I know this looks bad, but you don't have to worry about a thing." Dick said trying to defuse the situation, "Ms. Blake is asleep."

"And how is that?"

"Oh I made sure that she went to sleep." The red haired girl said, and began to get nervous when she noticed Thor's glare land on her.

"You put her to sleep?" He uttered in a low tone, then tightened his grip on Mjölnir. The others were starting to understand that they may have made a mistake.

"Thor-"

"Save it Grayson, if you're willing to just come to my home unannounced then mess with someone close to me. Then maybe you should understand what's gonna happen if anything happens to her..."

In an instant, Thor just about speed blitzed the group. He was in front of the red gained girl who looked up at him in fear now. "Donald wait!"

Blake stopped when he heard Dick call him by his name, he glanced back at him as he held up his hands in surrender. "We don't want any trouble and I didn't know if you would actually agree to meet up with us."

"Get. To. The. Point."

"Okay....we were wondering...if you'd like to be part of our team."
