Mr Kim sighed and tried to calm himself down but in the next minute, he turned and punched the wall repeatedly a drop of tear fell from his eyes. He wanted to just kill himself already.
He placed his hand on the wall and leaned on it frustratedly.
Ever since Mi Soo got into the accident, he constantly blamed himself for what happened to her and promised to make everything right if she would just wake up but now that she is awake, he can't even look her in the eye. He felt too guilty for pushing his only daughter into a marriage she didn't want and now, he didn't know how to behave.
Mi Soo went back to her room after eating and looked around the room. She figured out that Kim Mi Soo was a bright student who graduated as an honour student and finished college with a first call and business administration.
After looking through her certificate, Mi Soo turned to leave but a book dropped from the shelve. She turned and picked up the green book the cleaned the tiny dust on it.
She didn't know why but she couldn't help but open the book. It read, "Dear diary. There is a guy I met after the family business get together. We were invited to the Park family's house for a get-together. Although I tried to pretend as though he was invincible, he stood out amongst the crowd. His beautiful jet black hair and masculine physique were alluring.
What am I saying? Sigh. Anyway, he looked totally my type if that's even a thing."
Mi Soo read the diary and even though she felt like a pervert at that moment, she could help but feel drawn to this girl's love story.
She opened the next page and there was a happy emoji there. It read, "Dear diary, I think I'm in love. Is it possible to be in love with someone you just met? People call it fling and I'm not sure what I feel because I've never been in love before so this is complicated. But why can't I get him off my mind? I'm not a teenager anymore but why can't I maintain my composure? Is it because I've never been in love?"
Mi Soo smiled thinking about how much this girl loved the man. She was like a typical girl who was drunk in love at first sight. She flipped the page and continued reading.
"Dear diary, I really want to stop feeling this way. I'm starting to feel as though this is way out of my character. I'm not the type to fall in love so easily but days have passed yet I can't get him out of my mind. There is no possibility that we would run into each other again so why can't I just forget him?"
Eun Hee stopped reading for a while and then sighed. She had never been in love because she only focused on getting good grades and becoming the best lawyer in all of province S. However, she could relate to what the girl had written because she had read a lot of books with a similar theme.
She flipped the page over and then read the next input for the day, "Dear diary, the most unexpected thing happened today. You would believe who I ran into... I went shopping with my mom at YSG clothing Mall. There, my mom ran into her friend Mrs Park. They chatted for a while until Mrs Park introduced her son Park Seo Joon to us. My jaws literally dropped when I saw him. He was the same boy from the get-together party, the one I couldn't forget.
This has to be fate. Our moms spoke for some time while I went to take a look at some clothes. I didn't know what his mother said to him but Park Seo Joon began to walk in my direction. My heart beat fast but I behaved ignorantly. He helped me shop and carried the clothes I selected. What a gentleman? Sigh... Too bad the day had to come to an end and to make matters worse, he didn't even ask for my number.
As much as I'm happy to have seen him today, I'm also sad because it seems the feeling is one-sided. Sigh..."
Eun Hee stopped reading and closed the diary. Her eyes were tired and she wanted to rest her head. She lay on her bed in the hopes of sleeping but just a few minutes after, she began to see disturbing images.
Her subconscious state took her back to the day she died. She ran with all she had to escape those men. Tears fell from her eyes as he begged the deities to help her. "I don't want to die... Spare my life..." she cried but in the next minute, she heard the gun go off.
"Ah!" she jerked back to the present sweating profusely. When she looked around, grandfather Kim, Mr and Mrs Kim were all there.
Mrs Kim had her head buried in Mr Kim's embrace. Mi Soo could tell that she was crying. Grandfather Kim caressed her hair gently. "It was just a dream. You're fine now. You're here with us now."
In this kind of situation, Eun Hee wished that she would see her mother and father and hug them dearly but these people were not her family and although she didn't want them to hurt, she couldn't help but feel sad about her situation as well.
Soon, it was evening and Mi Jo came around again. She was directed to Mi Soo's room but she could tell that everyone was in a sad mood.
When she got to the door, she knocked before walking in. "Hey, you... I brought your favourite." she raised the packaged fried chicken then walked in seeing MiSoo turn her face.
She sat on her friend's bed and was quiet for a while. "Did something happen while I was gone? Did anyone treat you badly?" Mi Jo asked trying to get her friend to talk but MiSoo just covered her entire head under the blanket.
"You know, we tell each other every and I have so many things I haven't been able to tell you because you were asleep for a long time. I know this is too much to ask but can you not make them sad? I know they hurt your feelings before but they love you dearly and trust me they are sad to see you in this condition as well." Mi Jo explained worriedly that this would only make them distant.
MiSoo sighed and hesitantly removed the blanket from over her head then sat up. She said nothing at first but felt the urge to ask a delicate question.
"What happened on that day? Why did I become like this?" her question left Mi Jo speechless. This wasn't something Mi Jo wanted to remember.
