Three days soon passed in the blink of an eye. Alexis woke up from her bed. She was discharged the other day after being admitted to the hospital. Ever since then, she had locked herself up in her room grieving her parents' death.The lovely cute little girl was now gone,it was now an indifferent Alexis.


Nanny Jean knocked on the door several times."Alexis, you need to eat something".


"Go away, I don't want to eat anything, I want to die too". Alexis' sarcastic tone rang out."Can you please open the door for me". Alexis still remained unperturbed. But when the door was quiet all of a sudden, Alexis went to open the door, only to be hugged by Nanny Jean.


Nanny Jean had spent all her years serving the Bentley family, so she saw Alexis as her own daughter."Everything will be fine Alexis, I have got your back. Now you have me and you have to graduate, do your best and make your dead parents proud. We need to eat now".


"I'm not hungry, Nanny Jean, I'm fine".Her stomach growled and her face tainted red with embarrassment. "Nanny Jean, then I have to trouble you then". She ate and headed back to her room. That was her routine for the next month until it was getting closer to her final exams.


Alexis was left with a paper to finish high school. After the exam, Kayla drugged Alexis into the cafeteria and confronted her. "I'm sorry dear, I heard your parents died, but I'm really angry with you,why didn't you tell me anything or you don't trust me again". Alexis sighed"It's alright, I just thought I wanted to be alone but I'm fine now, I have you". Alexis smiled and hugged Kayla."See you tomorrow, it's a big day". Alexis waved back to Kayla and sat in her car and drove back home.


She came home very happy because she had one paper to finally complete school and she would be attending the best college with her best friend Kayla. She opened the door only to be pulled into a warm embrace. She looked and realized it was her dad's best friend. Truth be told, she hadn't seen him till her parents' burial service.
