Embarrassment on the first day
Early the next day, Alexis woke up much earlier than usual.She wore a simple outfit and had her breakfast.After washing the dishes,she waited outside for the chauffeur.While standing for about 30 mins, she whispered to herself "I guess I'm so early". Upon hearing a car honk,she lifted her head and headed towards the car."Are you the chauffeur Nora arranged for me", Alexis asked."Yes sure, please be in a hurry. We need to get there before Kelsey arrives". The chauffeur responded back to Alexis.Alexis hurriedly sat in the passenger seat. She was a bit nervous since she didn't really know the attitude of Kelsey."Here goes nothing", she thought.
Her main motif for coming to country M was because Mr Johnson was now living there and she wanted to know the real truth about her parents' death before drawing into conclusion.She snapped out of her thoughts when the chauffeur poked her shoulder."Miss I've been calling you several times that we've arrived but you seem so lost in your thoughts", the chauffeur said in an apologetic manner."It's alright thank you". Alexis got down from the car and headed towards the receptionist."Hey miss, I'm after Miss Kelsey", Alexis said."Do you have an appointment with her". Alexis smiled and said"I'm her new dietician, so can you show me her office? I don't want to be late on my first day". The receptionist scoffed."Why would I believe you, I can't allow you to go to her office without a letter", the receptionist said.Alexis was fuming in anger."What kind of embarrassment is this", she thought.Alexis braced herself and gave it a second try."Miss I'm very sincere, this is my ID card, I'm a doctor". Alexis handed her ID card to the receptionist.The receptionist laughed."Guards" the receptionist shouted.Soon two security guards came."Get her out of here"the receptionist commanded.The guards brought Alexis out.Alexis was really angry.She gave Nora a call and soon she picked up.
"Miss Alexis,on your first day of work you are late",Nora said in sarcasm."I've been here for a while now but the receptionist thinks I'm an obsessed fan of Kelsey and asked the guards to throw me out", Alexis said in a wronged tone.Nora laughed"Sorry about that, I'm gonna give her a call". Alexis hanged up.While waiting outside, the receptionist came to call her."My apologies about what happened earlier, I thought you were an obsessed fan or a secret paparazzi"."Welcome to the G & E entertainment industry and good luck", the receptionist smiled and went back to her seat.Alexis was shown the way to Kelsey's office.Alexis knocked on the door with Kelsey's name boldly inscribed on it.Soon Nora opened the door and welcomed her in.Alexis submitted the diet plan schedule to Kelsey.After Kelsey analyzed the file she said"well I guess you are the best, no wonder director Shan recommended you for me". Alexis smiled."Have a seat Alexis, so basically you will be following me to every movie shooting and every programme, making sure my meals are on time". Alexis nodded."One more thing,don't tell anyone about my health issue",Kelsey warned."Sure",Alexis nodded."You can relax for now. I have been invited to a birthday party at 7:30pm and I will be attending with you and Nora, my personal assistant". Alexis smiled and took the file back from Kelsey.
Ding!!, Alexis received a message on her phone.She checked and it was from Kayla.
Kayla: How is it going with your new job?
Alexis: Not that bad. I just had a tough time with the receptionist, but it's been resolved, but it was basically a nice day.
Kayla: Well that's nice to hear.I've been invited to a birthday party for Kelvin.He is one of the wealthy businessmen in this country and a friend of Dave's. I will be attending with Dave.Do you care to join?
Alexis: I guess that's the same party I will be attending with Kelsey this evening.
Kayla: Cool: )
Alexis: See you there
Kayla: Yeah sure, bye babe.
Alexis placed her phone in her bag and checked the time.It was 6:00pm and the birthday party was at 7:30pm.Kelsey finished with her day's work and told them she was going to relax in her lounge for a while.Soon it was 7:30pm,they headed towards Kelsey's car and drove to the birthday party.Immediately they arrived, Kelsey told Alexis to follow closely behind.When they entered, Alexis was amazed.The place was crowded with rich men and women and celebrities.Kelsey spotted her friends and went over leaving Alexis behind.Looking at her outfit, she felt inferior. She didn't see Kayla so she guessed they had already come.She sat down while observing the people around.A male waiter approached her and said"Miss, would you like a beer or a cocktail". Alexis smiled and said" a cocktail will do".The waiter handed her a glass of cocktail.She detested the smell of alcohol, so she didn't drink.While sipping her cocktail, she spotted Kayla and Dave.She waved and Kayla approached her with Dave. Kayla gave her a bear hug and sat beside her.Dave smiled at Alexis and whispered to Kayla "I'm going to be with my friends while I leave you girls to have a nice chitchat". Kayla smiled.Alexis told Kayla the gist of everything that happened earlier today.Alexis laughed when she saw Kayla's angry look."Calm down babe", Alexis said."I'm just concerned about you though, but where is Kelsey", Kayla asked.''She went to chat with her friends immediately we came here"."That reminds me, I need to introduce you to my friends". Kayla dragged Alexis from her seat.She introduced Alexis as her best friend to a lot of friends.Alexis smiled whenever she was introduced or asked a question.She excused herself and went to the restroom.When she entered, she overhead two girls gossiping.
Girl 1:Did you see the girl Kayla was introducing (laughs)
Girl 2:She looks so odd
Girl 1: She looked like she was going for a business meeting.It was really fun.
Girl 2:Her dress sucks.
Alexis ignored them and headed back."Maybe Kelsey is looking for me", she thought.
She went back to where she was sitting earlier and there she spotted Kelsey talking to the weird stranger she met the other day."What is he doing here?", she thought.
