Four years have passed since the start of Roshi's hellish training, and Mimi has grown a lot in every way.

Mimi was now eleven years old, her height had increased to 1.52 meters, and both her hip and bust area had also started to develop.

During these four years, Mimi spent all her time on the island, training.

In the first year, Mimi, in addition to training, focused her effort on learning to hunt, because for a long time she only ate fruits, and her muscles needed the nutrients that only meat could provide.

After many trial and error, Mimi had successfully hunt her first animal, which consisted of a small wild boar. Fortunately Roshi had taught her how to gut and skin wild animals in general knowledge classes, probably already knowing that at some point Mimi would be able to hunt an animal.

Mimi made many mistakes in gutting the Boar, as Roshi's class was only theoretical, not practical. In the end, she managed to make some jerky, which made her happy.

In the second year of training, Mimi got used to hunting, and because of the large amount of meat, wild fruits and vegetables she eated daily along with the heavy training, her overall body strength as well as her stamina skyrocketed.

With her strength growing, the standard exercises to strengthen her muscles in the early morning training would no longer do, so Roshi had her carry a 50-pound tortoise shell while she trained.

Unsurprisingly, after putting on the turtle shell, Mimi was barely able to walk straight because of the weight added to her body, which made the morning workout even more difficult.

She had made some progress on Roshi's grand course in her second year, but she couldn't get past the fourth stage.

In the third year, Mimi had learned all about the basics of the Hermit Tartarua style, and Roshi started teaching her about the beginning techniques of the style, such as Bojutso, which is the art of fighting with a polearm, stick or cane, and Jan Ken, a technique created from the game of rock, paper and scissors; As in the game, in the technique there are three different attacks, 'Gu', equivalent to rock, is an extremely strong punch, 'Choki', equivalent to scissors, is a poke in the eyes, and 'Pa', equivalent to paper, is a open palm attack.

Mimi trained and absorbed Roshi's techniques and teachings like a sponge, even Roshi was surprised by Mimi's great progress.

Maybe it was not a bad idea to have increased the difficulty of the training from the start, Roshi had thought as he saw Mimi's rapid progress.

In the forth year of training, she had managed to reach the fifth stage of the infernal course, which is how she nicknamed it, and Roshi made her wear the fifty-pound tortoise shell not just for morning practices, but for the entire day, except during rest time, of course.

Even at just eleven years old and not having completely finished training, Mimi could easily be compared to adult martial artists, both in strength, technique and speed.

However, there was still one very important thing missing for Mimi to be considered a powerful martial artist.

Fighting experience was lacking.

As Mimi only trained the techniques and the body, she never had a fight against anyone in this new life; she was completely inexperienced.

And this was the next step in Mimi's training.

----------

In the present tense, Roshi had canceled the course's exercise schedule, and took Mimi to the interior of the island, where Mimi had never set foot.

The two of them were walking silently through the dense forest; Mimi could tell that there were countless animals and insects around the two of them because of the huge amount of sounds coming from the forest.

They were so deep in the forest of the island, it seemed a completely different world, where there was only the green of the leaves and grass, and the brown of the huge trees that surrounded them.

''So.....grandpa, now that we're getting to where you wanted to take me, are you going to tell me why you canceled my training, and why I don't need to wear the shell?'' Mimi asked impatiently.

Roshi laughed as he continues to walk without turning to Mimi, ''Hohohoho! Don't be so impatient, Mimi! But since we're already here, I think it's okay for me to explain now. You see Mimi, these last few years you have been doing exceptionally well in training, to the point that I am extremely pleased and proud!''

Proud and contentment was very clear in Roshi's tone of voice.

Mimi scratches her head in embarrassment and grinned without realizing it, she felt happy at Roshi's praise.

''But! There is still a big barrier that separates you from a true martial artist. Something that, if you don't develop, you'll be stuck at your current level forever. Do you want to try to guess what it is?'' Roshi said, now in a more serious tone of voice.

''Well, since in all these years I haven't had any training partners to test my skills with, would I say I lack combat experience or something perhaps?'' Mimi responds, half sure of her answer.

Roshi clapped his hands and laughed, ''As expected of my granddaughter! You know what you're missing! It's just like you said, the big barrier that prevents the growth of many martial artists, is the lack of combat experience, and that's what you need. At your current level, just training won't do.''

''But what are we doing here, deep inside the forest? Aren't there a lot of dangerous animals around here? Is it really okay for us to stay here?'' Mimi said.

A great roar echoes through the forest in the next instant, causing Mimi to flinch and hide behind Roshi.

''Well, you don't have to worry about that, because I'm here. And we're just here to get you some training partners!'' Roshi said, completely ignoring the roar.

Mimi looks at Roshi in amazement, ''What? Are there human beings living so deep inside this forest?!''

Roshi shakes his head, ''Not humans. Well, they're almost human, so it doesn't make much difference!''

Mimi raises an eyebrow, confused as to what Roshi meant.

Hearing the roar again, Mimi shuts up and follows Roshi from behind.

----------

After a few hours of walking, Mimi and Roshi arrived at a part of the forest that was full of bamboos; walking a little further, they stop in an area that was more open.

Roshi then closes his hands over his mouth, and begun to make strange noises,'' Ook-ook! Eeek-aak-eek!''

Mimi looked at Roshi in confusion; she had no idea what Roshi was doing, until she heard several noises coming from the distance through the bamboos.

Mimi's eyes widened as she saw what was approaching them. In the distance, she saw dozens of monkeys jumping from bamboo to bamboo in great speed towards them.

The monkeys were the size of a ten year old child, approximately 1.20 to 1.30 meters tall, they had white fur on their bodies, red fur on thei faces and broad arms.

''What the hell is this! Why there is so many monkeys coming our way?!'' Mimi exclaimed in panic.

Roshi stroked her on the head to calm her down, ''Don't worry, they are friendly. I called them here.''

''What? Why?! Wait, first of all, how the hell are you friends with monkeys? It wasn't enough to have a talking turtle as a friend, you're also friends with monkeys?!'' Mimi said, pointing to the approaching monkeys.

''Now Mimi, don't worry about the details! Just know that they are friendly, and that they will be your training partners for now!'' Roshi answered.

''Will my training partners be....monkeys? Are you messing with me?'' Mimi said as she looked at Roshi in disbelief.

Roshi laughed, ''Hohoho! I wouldn't underestimate them if I were you! After all, they are very special monkeys!''

''Specials? Specials how?'' Mimi asks with disdain.

''Well, I taught them a bit of Martial Arts.'' Roshi responded blantly.

Mimi froze; what her grandfather said echoed in her head again and again like an echo, she couldn't believe what Roshi had said.

She then snaps out of her trance and looks at Roshi like he's crazy, '' Why the hell would you teach martial arts to monkeys?!'' She yells.

Roshi looks at Mimi, who for some reason looks really annoyed, with a neutral expression, ''Well...when I met them, they were a funny bunch, apart from their leader; and as I had a lot of free time, I thought 'why not'?''

Mimi is dumbfolded at Roshi, but just as she was about to say something, the monkeys had arrived.

They stopped in front Mimi and Roshi, and they begun to make a lot of noises while dancing strangely.

''Ook-ook! Eeek-aak-eek!''

''Aak-Ook! Eek!''

''Ook-Ook!''
