A Worthy Finale

The Island of Japan finds itself bowing before the Restored Power of the Emperor for the first and final time. They gather themselves, heading back to their homes, and realizing their shame and guilt. They were a proud people, the Japanese. But like all humans, they can be blinded by their sense of rightiousness, their greed for wealth, or their natural inclination towards ignorance. Put them in a corner, take away their pride, take away their hopes, take away all that matters to them, and they easily succumb to preserve what they have left with honorable hara-kiri.

But the Emperor's death and sacrifice was a wake-up call that reminded them, that what had made Japan the great nation that it is, wasn't the individualism of the west, not the capitalism of America, not the blind obedience of the communists. It was their belief in true Bushido. Of being part of a community of people that watch out for each other, and a society that treats every citizen like valuable blood, necessary for the continuance of the body's beating heart.

Yuna succumbed to hysteria. She could not accept her father's death. She wanted nothing more but for his father to truly become the Emperor that he was meant to be, and the Emperor that he was in his final moments. The bodyguards held her down, while she manically rampaged in tears and disbelief.

Yuri came to her side immediately after the explosion, knowing she would be hurt the most. The Japanese Self-Defense Forces inevitably took control of the chaos and riots and reinstated peace and order with enforced Martial Law.

"Yuri…" Yuna said while he was rocking her while she was hugging him on the floor while leaning against the wall.

"It was my fault," Yuna said.

"No. It isn't. It's not your fault," Yuri said. He hugged her tighter to assure her he was there for her.

"If I hadn't involved the Imperial family in all of this magic stuff, my father would still be alive," she said, blaming herself.

"It's not your fault… Blame someone… Yuna… Don't blame yourself… You did nothing wrong…" Yuri urged her while he was looking blankly at the other wall.

"No… It's my fault. I did this!" Yuna said.

Yuri understood what was going on with Yuna. He too had lost loved ones in his life. He had watched them go in front of his eyes. For no reason at all. For being the reason for it all. For being weak and useless. For being stupid and realizing it's due to the consequences of your dumb decisions.

There was nothing that could destroy a person more than this. So he thought the best way to help her cope, for now, was to let himself play the villain.

"I could have saved him... Yuna… I was right there in front of the room where he was… but I…"

"What do you mean?" she said, then raised her head and looked at him.

"I was right there… Just outside the building, he was in, in the middle of nowhere. But I was afraid to enter. Fearing that I would cause the death of 200 other people. But I wanted to save him so much…"

Yuna looked down and hugged her knees and said, "Then why didn't you?"

"Because I heard your Father's voice. And I listened. And I've never had a real father to be there for me. One that was the blood of my blood and bone of my bone. And he… he… made me realize what it meant to be a truly loving father. And he reminded me that I was also a father."

"And we have our child," she lay her head on his chest while crying.

"Your father chose to hide Anna from the world. He chose to take his own life to save her and others. Because he was this nation's father too. And he knew, without even seeing the news or the camera feed, how his children would react to the situation. And he made his decision. So don't waste the second chance that the Emperor has given this country. The opportunity he has given you."

Yuri kissed Yuna on the forehead. He was and always will, love his future wife and his child, and he would do everything for them just as the Emperor would do for his children.

After the dust had settled and people were in their homes, waiting for what was to happen to the country, with the Emperor dead, with two-thirds of the National Diet dead, and with a necessary Coup de Tat that had given the Japanese Self-Defense Forces, the fifth most powerful military in the world, temporary power to stabilize the nation.

And for the millions of Japanese who had restored their faith in the mysticism of the world, the authority of the Imperial Family, and the rebirth of their National Pride and Identity, only one man… No… not a man… Only one being was in their mind that would be the best fit to lead their great nation.

The being that was there with them, helping them, saving them, protecting them, guiding them, and making them see their faults, and the only one who had the power to bring them back to the lost glory of their Empire. They believed in the Overlord.

After a week of rebuilding the nation, and establishing new institutions and changes. Yuri Hayashi had been instated by the Military, the National Diet, and the electoral people of Japan as the new Shogun of Japan, establishing the Fourth Shogunate in Japanese History.

The Overlord publicly and officially married Princess Yuna. Restoring the Imperial Family's power. Akira Abe was elected to be the Prime Minister of the National Diet, but they would only handle internal affairs and laws. Botan would become the Commanding General of the Mazoku, Yakuza, and the now-renamed Imperial Armed Forces of Japan. Martha Akio was promoted to become Director of Japanese Central Intelligence. Nobita was promoted to CEO of Domain Corporation, which would bring the Golden Age of Robotics.

Sebastian and Ayesha were given roles as AI administrators, to manage the country's defenses and implement the new laws, ensuring there would be no rebels.

The Mazoku Dojos would be easily finished through the advanced technology of EDEN Corporation, turning the Dojos into a mass producer of Mazoku Warriors. And the Yakuza would be legalized but their illegal business would be shut down and give them the authority to manage the Demon Lord's business internationally. Anna would be recognized as part of the Imperial Family.

And Yuri Hayashi could finally let Gaia rest in peace. He was one step closer to achieving World Domination, and there was no one to stop him. While Yuri was in the shower, so many things had run into his mind.

"Damn! It's only been like 25 days, and I'm already the Fourth Japanese Shogun, blessed with the strongest system, and surrounded by people that love me and whom I can trust. What could go wrong?"

Yuri turned off the shower, wiped himself with his towel, and looked at the mirror, seeing the changes that had happened to him.

"So? Yuri Hayashi," he looked at himself with a smile. "What's next?"

He looked at his status again for the first time in the past week, since he had been so busy. "Time to check the status," he laughed. "Status."

Having overlooked his quest. Yuri noticed something strange.

"Oh! Right! My Quest! What's the new one? Did it update a new quest when I was asleep?"

Yuri read the Magitek System's text right before his eyes, and he stopped everything that he was doing. And every question that had been left unanswered in his mind, was now clear.
